Bradley comes out of the tube station back onto the square. Max walks out of the Minut Mart and sees Jase. He tells Jase the girls are going to love him (as he hangs a flyer for a party at R&R). Jase replies, that is his plan!
Max walks through the market, passing Stacey’s stall. He turns back and asks her if she texted him last night? She replies that it wasn’t her, and her name would have popped up. Max tells her that he thought maybe she might have changed her number or something? She tells him she hasn’t and wonders what the text said. It said, “how are you?” She asks him if he replied. He tells her no. She tells him at least someone cares about him. She asks how he is, and he tells her he’s fine. Max asks Stacey how she is doing? Stacey tells him she’s ok. Bradley wants a divorce. Max tells her he’s sorry to hear that.
Sean is looking out of Tanya’s front window. She asks him what he’s still doing there? He tells her Max is on the square, but he’s not coming that way. She tells him he’s got to go as the girls will be up soon for school. He wonders what Tanya would think of him if she’d just met him. She tells him that she hasn’t got time for this right now. Sean gives her a look, and she tells him it doesn’t do it for her. Sean asks if he’ll see her later? She tells him she will give him a call. He starts to head out the front door, and she orders him out the back door.
Bradley is walking through the market, and Stacey sees him. She asks Bradley what he’s doing there? Bradley tells Stacey he’s tired of running away. He asks Stacey if she has a solicitor yet? She tells him no, she hasn’t but to give her a chance to. Bradley coldly tells her to hurry up and get on with it as there is no sense in wasting time.
Bradley continues walking through the square when Jack spies him while looking out the window. He informs Max that Bradley is back. Max looks up from his coffee and says he knows where to find me if he wants. Jack tells Max he won’t exactly be top of his list, will he? Jack says he’s got a bag, so it looks like he’s back for good. Max changes the subject and asks Jack what the flyer/party is all about? Jack calls him out of changing the subject. Max replies that it won’t be just Ronnie that it rubs the wrong way. Phil Mitchell isn’t going to take that lying down, is he? Jack asks Max if he’s going to see Bradley. Max says yes as he reads a text from the anonymous sender.
Bradley walks into Dot’s to find music blaring and calls out for Dot. He finds Clare in a slip ironing in the kitchen. He calls out hello. She jumps. She introduces herself to him and immediately knows he’s Bradley as she’s heard all about him.
The Mitchell’s are discussing Jack’s latest attempt to get at them. Ronnie says she can have a word since she still needs to go pick up her gown and a few items. Phil tells her not to react to this. It’s better to think before you act out on it. Peggy says that is all very well, but he’s deliberately going out of his way to pinch their business. Phil says he’s not saying they won’t doing anything, but they aren’t going to pile in and go after him yet. He sends Roxie over to collect Ronnie’s things and orders her to be sweet as pie and wish him good luck.
Clare and Bradley are discussing the fact that he’s spoken to Stacey. He tells Clare that Stacey was questioning his being back. Clare tells him that from all she’s heard, Stacey is a pretty nasty piece of work. Bradley says he’s worked so hard not to blame her. Clare tells him that they could have stopped themselves. Bradley agrees, and Clare goes on bad-mouthing Stacey. She tells Bradley that some come off all sweet and light, and they are the worst. Clare goes on to say that she doesn’t understand what Stacey saw in his Dad. Bradley tells Clare he’s been trying to figure that out. She tells Bradley he must be quite well off. Bradley tells Clare that Max is more than most around there. She tells him that some fall for that. Her phone buzzes, and it’s Max. Bradley excuses himself to go pack. Clare reads the text from Max that says, “I don’t play games. Say who u r or leave me alone.” Clare takes out her notebook and makes a check showing she received a text back.
Ian tells Christian that just because their client is a homosexual doesn’t mean he has to have a pink-themed party. Christian replies that he’s not saying pink everything! He is saying pink tablecloths, pink napkins, and pink menus, that’s it. Ian responds that it doesn’t leave much room for anything else, then does it? Lucy chimes in with, “how about salmon for the main course and strawberry mousse for after?” Ian yells at Lucy to shut up. Jane pipes in with, “what about Pink Floyd as background music?” They all laugh, and Ian gets even angrier and screams out that they are all treating it like some sort of giggle, and it doesn’t matter. He continues by adding that he’s sorry, but it does matter. This is their first big contract, and they have to be professional about it. He gets up to leave, and Jane asks him what the big deal is? He tells her his shoulder is killing him and he has to get to the cafe.
Jack meets Roxy at the door with Ronnie’s things. He asks if Ronnie is feeling poorly? Roxy replies that Ronnie had better things to do. She says that Ronnie wishes Jack good luck on the new club hours. Jack replies that she’s heard about it then? She tells him that she has and they don’t mind a bit of healthy competition. Jack looks at her and says, so Ronnie didn’t send you round because she was too scared to come herself? Roxy looks at Jack and says he fancies himself, doesn’t he? He asks her if it was Phil then? She tells him no. He tells her to give Ronnie his best. He says to tell her that if it hadn’t been for her little sister, they might still be together. Roxy winces and turns to leave. He stops her and asks her to remind Ronnie she has a set of keys he’d like back.
Dawn and Jase are thumbing through a magazine at things for Summer. Jase comments about the expense. Dawn asks him if she wants Summer to look beautiful? She informs him with all of her extra hours; she’s got the money. He tells Dawn she should pay her credit card. Ian comes in and asks him about the rent. Jase tells him at the end of the week. Ian reminds Jase he said that last week.
Jane pops into the cafe and asks Ian what’s all this about his shoulder? He tells her he probably slept on it funny. She tells him she’s booking him a massage. He tells her if she wants to help him, then do something about her brother as he’s driving him mad. Jane asks Ian why he’s acting as if his life depends on this contract. He breaks down and tells Jane that Edward is taking him to meet the Queen. Jane asks Ian on what level does Edward think he’s taking Ian? Ian smirks and says he can handle it. Jane shrugs it off and calls and orders Ian a massage.
Chelsea takes the appointment call for Ian’s massage. Clare walks up, and Chelsea tells her she’s booked Ian Bealle, full body massage, one o’clock. Chelsea sighs an ugh sigh, and Clare reminds her to be professional at all times. Clare says that she thinks she and Chelsea might have got off on the wrong foot. Chelsea responds, “so?” She convinces Chelsea since they are alone running the salon, they should try to get along. Chelsea agrees. Clare calls Max. He answers, and she tells him she’s a bit embarrassed, but it’s her that’s been texting him. She didn’t mean to play games. Chelsea comes down the stairs, and Clare shoos her back up them. She continues by saying she got his number there at the salon. He wonders what she wants. She tells him she’s been considering making some investments and heard he was the best from whom to get advice. He is intrigued. She tells him if he’s worried about running into Tanya, she’s taken the day off. He tells her, ok. He spies Bradley and tells Clare he’s got to go.
Max calls out to Bradley. Bradley gathers the milk and doesn’t speak. Tanya comes out of the house with Oscar in his pram seat. He asks her if she’s not working today. She tells him it’s none of his business. Max asks to see the girls later. Tanya tells him to stick to the arrangement. Max asks Tanya what she wants for her birthday. She scoffs and turns away. Max calls after her that he was just making conversation. As he drives away, Tanya turns and walks the opposite direction she was moving.
Roxy and Ronnie are in the kitchen as Roxy tells Ronnie Jack wants his key back. Ronnie says, gladly. Roxy wonders if they shouldn’t do more about the club hours. Ronnie tells her that Phil knows what he’s doing, and Auntie Peg trusts him. Roxy tears up a piece of paper. Ronnie goes down to open up the Pub.
Tanya visits Bradley. He offers her a biscuit to go with the tea. She asks where Dot is? Bradley explains that she is visiting Granddad. Tanya tells him she knows it wasn’t easy coming back. Bradley tells her that is what Clare said. But he explains this is his home. Tanya reminds him that she is divorcing his Dad, and she wonders if he would be willing to stand up and make a statement about Max and Stacey’s affair. He tells her that Max is still his Dad. Tanya wonders if that means that in a couple of weeks, they’ll be pals again? He tells her now, but he’s dealing with his divorce right now as well. She reminds him that they have to be married a year before they can divorce. He reminds her that he is aware, but he’s at least started the ball rolling. She tells him they could do a deal. He writes a statement for her, and she’ll do one for him. He doesn’t think Stacey is going to be fighting it though, that is the difference. Tanya understands. Suddenly she gets up and asks Bradley to look after Oscar for about an hour. He asks her where she is going as she’s hardly touched her coffee. She tells him it’s not coffee she needs right now.
Jase is chatting with Phil. Phil tells him he can’t put flyers out. Jase tells Phil that he’s only doing what he was paid to do. Phil reminds Jase that Jack doesn’t own him, though does he? Phil takes the box and trashes the fliers. Jack witnesses this from across the square.
Tanya goes to Stacey and asks her to go for a drink to talk. Stacey agrees but tells her it’s a bit early for her.
Jack approaches Jase and wonders what’s going on. Jase explains he has handed out loads of the fliers. Jack wonders what he was talking to Phil about. Jase explains Phil is not happy as expected. Jack retrieves the advertisements from the bin and hands them to Jase. He orders him to put some on every table in the Vic and give them to customers. Jase asks Jack if this is some kind of test? Jack replies, “maybe!”
Tanya gets a gin and tonic and Stacey an orange juice. Stacey wonders what is going on. Tanya explains she needs her to make a statement about the affair. Stacey tells her Tanya no and leaves. Tanya calls after she says she owes her.
Jase comes in, and Phil wonders what is going on. Jase tells him nothing. He walks back out, and Jack fires him after Jase won’t own up to what Phil has on Jase.
Max comes in and asks Clare what is going on? He suspects her of putting him up to it for Tanya since they are going through a contested divorce. She tells him not the case at all as she finds him very attractive. He doesn’t believe her. She tells him he wouldn’t be the first older man she’s been with. He tells her she’s probably thinking he’s a sugar daddy. Max shoots Clare down and leaves. Clare opens her book and scratches out his name. Chelsea comes in and looks at the schedule. Chelsea goes on about Ian. Clare responds that he’s not that bad? Chelsea explains he’s been married about 1500 times and all. Clare wonders what all his wives saw in him. Chelsea tells her that he makes himself out to be respectable, but deep down, he’s just a lich. She reckons it’s his big fat wallet they are after. Chelsea continues that some women are despicable. Clare’s interest is piqued. She fakes a call to the salon and “cancels” Ian’s appointment. She sends Chelsea off to an early lunch.
Sean finds Tanya drinking in the Pub. He tells her he doesn’t like being used. She tells him he didn’t seem to mind at the moment. He tells her not the case as he wanted her. She reminds him she has a lot going on right now. He tells her to go find another mug to make an idiot. She tells him she didn’t mean it like that. He tells her he did.
Jack comes into the Pub and asks Ronnie how she’s doing. Ronnie asks Peggy to serve him. Jack tells Ronnie not to be like that. He made one mistake. She tells him one day he’ll get what is coming to him. Ronnie walks off. Peggy walks up as Jack calls after Ronnie to find out if she got the message about his keys. Peggy tells him she’ll get him his keys, and then he can clear off. Jack and Phil are left standing at the bar. Jack asks Phil what he has on Jase. Phil tells him he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Jack tells him he suspects he does. Peggy gives Jack his keys. Jack asks if they are going to wish him luck on his new hours. He’s got a new menu and a happy hour special. They just start at him. Jack leaves, and Peggy asks Phil why he let Jack have the last word? Phil tells her that Jack won’t be having the last word.
Clare is giving a massage to Ian. She asks him if the pressure is good. He tells her to mind his shoulder. He also says he didn’t know she was trained, the masseuse. She tells him fully qualified and hadn’t had any complaints yet. Ian smiles as she continues to massage him.
Dawn is showing Jase the cute clothes she’s bought for Summer. He asks her how she’s paid for it. She tells him her credit card. He reminds her of the conversation they just had about the credit card. She details how the new hours will net them more money, so it’s no big deal. Jase tells her he’s been sacked. Jay overhears. Dawn is confused about why Jack sacked him. Jase explains it’s because he wouldn’t hand out the fliers. Jay asks if it was Jack who sacked him. Jase tells Jay not to worry. Dawn tells Jase he can get another job somewhere. Jase looks at her, knowing that isn’t the case, and they owe a month’s rent on the flat. Dawn tells him she can take the clothes back and use the cash to help. Jay grabs keys and heads out.
Tanya is sacked on the sofa when Max knocks on the door. He calls out and has Abi with him. Tanya answers the door and apologizes for forgetting to get Abi. She says she just laid down for five minutes and fell asleep. She tells Abi it won’t happen again. Max asks her if she’s been drinking, and she denies it. Max tells Abi he’ll pick her up tomorrow same time.
Jay is going to key Jack’s car when Max spies him. He doesn’t get a chance and runs away.
Clare comes in to find Bradley listening to sad music. She tells him she can’t imagine sitting around feeling miserable. She tells Bradley she would be looking at Stacey’s best mate to move on with. Bradley tells her not his style. She turns the music off and tells him she did her first massage today. She tells him he didn’t even know it and he gave her a tip. She tells Bradley he might know him as it was Ian Bealle. He tells her everyone knows Ian. He tells Clare he’s married. She takes a feigned offense to this and gets up.
Max comes in to tell Jack what he saw when dropping of Abi. Jack walks over to Dawn and tells her if she can’t smile at the customers, he’ll find someone who can. He tells her that he knows she’s upset about Jase. She agrees. He tells her he had no choice. She responds, “just because he wouldn’t hand out a couple of your fliers?” Jack says there is more to it than that, and she should ask Jase. Jack orders her to get back to doing what she does best, or he’ll replace her. Jack walks over to Max. Max tells him he saw Jase’s bratty little kid about to do a job on his paint after he confronted a drunken Tanya on the doorstep. Jack is shocked. Max tells Jack that Jay did a runner when he saw him, and he should keep an eye out. Jack says he’s got to keep an eye out on a few people. Max tells him he’s made quite a few enemies for the short time he’s been there.
Phil comes back into the Pub, and it’s empty. She says, “well?” Phil tells her they (the club) are running a special what did she expect? She wonders where he’s been all night? He tells her snooker. She wonders what Grant or his Dad would have said. He tells Peggy she’s going to have to trust him.
Clare calls out to Bradley that if he plays that record one more time, she’s going to break it over his head. Bradley takes the record off the player. She has a new page in her notebook for Ian Bealle. She checks off a conversation block.
Jack and Max are walking home. Max looks up at his old flat and asks Jack if he can believe he’s paying for that while he’s kipping on his couch. Jack asks him what he expects when he behaved like a tit in a trance, and he only gets what is coming to him. Max points out he should say that whilst looking in the mirror. Jack notices the front door ajar and asks Max if he locked up. They walk in to find the flat ransacked and sentimental items damaged.
