Mo comes back in and tells Charlie and Jean that Stacey isn’t in the ladies. Jean panics as she tells them her things are gone, and she is worried about her. Charlie wonders where the doctor is as she couldn’t have gone far. Someone must have seen something. Mo tries to comfort Jean.
Sean details how his Dad died. He tells her that his Dad was up on the scaffolding, and his legs went to jelly. He went pale and he fell. Tanya asks him how if he hit his Dad? Sean explains it was a delayed reaction, it was me who caused the fall, Sean says. He tells her that every time he looks in the mirror, he sees him, his Dad, his anger. Her phone rings, and it’s Max. She denies the call and tosses her phone down.
Tanya looks him in the eyes and says, “Right.” Sean wonders what she means. She wonders why Sean is telling her all of this? Sean explains he wants her to understand why he left Stacey and how she turned out the way she has. It wasn’t Stacey’s fault; it was his. She tells Sean that she doesn’t believe him. Sean tells her he’s telling the truth. She tells him he’s lying. He asks her why he would lie about that? She tells Sean because it’s just the kind of man she attracts innit? Men that will just say anything to get what they want. He tells her it is not him. She tells him he’s just as bad as Max. She storms off the kitchen, and Sean follows.
Meanwhile, Max and Abi come in the front door. Max tells Abi he’s going to have a chat with her mum and to head up to bed. Abi says to her Dad that Mum will be mad at her for being out this late. Max tells Abi he’s been calling her. Abi tells him not to say anything as she is going to sort things out, alright? Max agrees and heads out when he overhears Oscar crying. He hears Tanya and Sean in the kitchen. Tanya tells Sean he knows where the door is. She says to him she’s more than learned her lesson. Sean asks where he’s supposed to go now? She tells Sean it’s not her problem. Tanya heads up to Oscar with a bottle.
Jean is continuously flipping her phone open and shut, checking for a message from Stacey. Charlie tells her to stop it. She tells him maybe Stacey’s left a message. Charlie yells at Jean to leave it as it would make a noise if she had. Mo says they should get some shut-eye. Jean says she can’t sleep, not until she hears from Stacey. Mo tells her she’ll call when she’s ready. Jean says she’s going to stay up all night if she has to.
Stacey comes out fo the station in Tring. Jean’s phone rings, and she awakes. She answers, and it’s Stacey. Stacey tells her to calm down, and she has the stuff to do. She tells Jean not to call as she’s going to be busy. Stacey tells her mum that she’ll call when she’s done. She hails a cab and heads off.
Jean tells Charlie and Mo that Stacey is safe. Charlie asks where she is? Jean tells her she doesn’t know. He wonders if she thought to ask? Jean tells him that she wouldn’t let her get a word in edgewise. But Stacey is safe! Charlie says he supposes that it is something. Mo asks Jean if she fancies a knees-up? Jean says, “pardon?” Mo tells her she reckons they are going to have a little bit of a party later. Jean follows nervously.
Tanya is taking Abi’s temperature. Abi coughs, and Tanya tells her she doesn’t look well. She says she’s going to nip over to the Minut Mart and get some cough medicine. Tanya calls up to Lauren that she’s popping out. Abi jumps up and searches for the DVD. Outside, Sean watches Tanya as she walks around to the Minut Mart. Abi finds the DVD. Tanya is walking out of the store and bumps into Max and drops the cough medicine. She tells him, “as if she doesn’t have to worry about enough now, she has to buy more cough mixture!” He tells her not to blame him as she should watch where she’s going! He asks her if everything is alright? She tells him it’s Abi, it’s just a cough. He tells her Abi is still his daughter, and he has a right to know when she’s not well.
Max follows Tanya back into the store and wonders where Oscar is? She tells him with Lauren, but it’s really none of his bother. He tells her she could leave Abi to him today as he’s not busy. Tanya tells him he’s not going near either of their girls. When he closed her out, Tanya says, he closed them out and all. He tells Tanya this is not on. He tells her about Abi sneaking out after one a.m., and she didn’t even know as that is why he was calling her last night. She tells him he’s not going anywhere near those girls.
Mo comes running down the stairs telling Charlie to ask her who has just rung! Charlie says he didn’t hear it ring. She tells him she got it upstairs. She tells him to ask her. He does, and she tells Charlie it was Belinda. She and Nevel are coming round for dinner! Charlie wonders whats brought this on? She tells him that Belinda just wanted to see him! Mo hands him a list of items to go to the store and get. Charlie perks up and heads out. Sean asks him about Stacey. Charlie tells him she’s upstairs asleep on doctors’ orders. Sean says it must have been pretty bad then? Charlie tells him he should know. Mo calls Belinda and invites her to lunch. She says no, but Mo orders her to make an appearance as her Dad needs her.
Stacey arrives at a house and walks up to the door.
Sean tells Tanya that Stacey is alright. Tanya doesn’t really care, but Sean continues to walk with her. He tells her he’s sorry for last night, and she didn’t really need to hear it. Tanya tells him that some things are best forgotten. Sean tells Tanya he wishes he could. She tells him that he could get some help. He tells her that he’d probably be locked up. She tells him he’ll be alright, he’s gotten this far. He asks her about herself. She tells him she’s never been better. He tells her when she’s not that she knows where he is.
Stacey rings the bell, and Bradley’s mum opens the door. She says, “Oh my God, what are YOU doing here?” Stacey explains that she’s there to see her husband; she wants to see Bradley. She slams the door in Stacey’s face exclaiming “over my dead body.”
Tanya comes in and nearly catches Abi burning the DVD. Tanya asks Abi what she’s doing? Abi tells her she didn’t hear her come in. Tanya reminds Abi that she is not answering her question.
Stacey stands at the door and rings the doorbell repeatedly. The door opens, and Rachel tells Stacey she will call the police if she has to! Stacey tells her that she will stand out there all day and screaming my head off about their mutual friend Max if she has to. Rachel waves at a neighbor. Stacey says, “where should we start? His kissing technique?” Rachel yanks Stacey into the house.
Tanya demands that Abi hand her the DVD. Abi yells at her that she doesn’t want her and Dad splitting up! Tanya explains that she doesn’t want her sneaking out of the house at all hours! Abi yells that she wanted to see her Dad and make sure he was alright! She wants him back with them. Tanya explains to Abi that it’s not going to happen. This is not some sort of fairytale. She tells Abi that she doesn’t love her Dad anymore. Abi tells her that she doesn’t want him hanging him in court! Tanya is shocked and asks Abi if her Dad put her up to this? She tells Tanya that it was her idea. She tells her that she deleted it from the computer, and Lauren taped over the original a long time ago. Tanya is furious and is determined that Max put her up to this. She demands that Abi tell her if Max told her to ruin that DVD. Abi emphatically yells NO at Tanya. Tanya says she can’t believe she did this to her! Abi says she can’t believe she did this to him! Tanya tells Abi he’s really done a number on her. Abi tells her mum that she hurt him! Tanya explains she is the one who got hurt! Abi screams at her mum, “what about Lauren and me!” Abi storms out of the kitchen. Tanya calls for her to come back.
Stacey tells Rachel that she is not leaving until she tells her where he is. Rachel tells her over her dead body. Stacey tells her that there are things Bradley needs to hear. Rachel tells Stacey that he’s gone, and she doesn’t know where he is. She and Max have no idea how much they hurt him. Stacey tells her again that she needs to see him. It’s between her and Bradley. Rachel replies she doesn’t know where he is.
Max is on the phone when Tanya beats on his door, calling out for him. He tells the person on the other end he needs to call them back. He answers the door, and Tanya barges in with the burnt DVD demanding to know why he put Abi up to this! He tells Tanya that he doesn’t know what she’s talking about, and he didn’t put her up to it. Tanya tells him this is a new low using their daughter like this. Max swears on his life that he didn’t do it. Tanya tells him it doesn’t mean much. Max says it does to him and Abi. She came round, and they had a cuddle. He says that they sat on the sofa and had a cuddle. He tells Tan that he did not put things in her head. He screams at her that she should be round there with Abi. Tanya yells at him that she doesn’t leave her kids on their own, and Dot is there! He tells Tanya that Abi is one broken little girl, and that is what is important right now. Because them being together is more important to her than anything!
Stacey wonders where Bradley would go. Rachel tells her that she doesn’t know, and she needs to go. Stacey reminds her again that he is her husband, and she is not going to stop until she finds him. Rachel’s phone rings and she tells Stacey to close the door on her way out. Rachel misses the call, and Stacey walks in again. Stacey tells Rachel that she is going to find Bradley. Rachel tells her that she sincerely hopes not. Stacey notices Bradley’s shirts. Rachel tells her that it’s just stuff for jumble. Stacey doesn’t buy it, and she knows that Rachel is lying. Stacey asks her what she wants her to do? Beg? Rachel tells her that she and Max really are two of a kind. Stacey tells her she just wanted to give him something. Stacey says she’s just trying to say sorry and make sure it’s really over between them. Rachel tells her it is. Stacey pulls out Valentine’s card and says she just wanted to give it to him. Rachel tells her it’s too late, way too late. Stacey says she just wants to know that it is completely over and see it in his eyes that he is happy without her. She might not be able to move on, but she wants to see if he has. Rachel tells Stacey that he’s moved on, and he’s happy. That’s true. Stacey is disappointed.
Max asks Tanya how Lauren is. Tanya tells him she’s fine. Max asks if she’s prepared her for what it’s going to be like without him around? Tanya tells him she’s got time. He asks about Abi getting there. Tanya tells him she will get there. Max wonders if Abi has a point? Maybe if they erased everything that happened? Bundled it up? Just chuck it away? Tanya tells him she doesn’t see that happening. Max suggests they move away and begin again? They’ve done it before. Max asks how it will affect Abi hearing what happened in court from friends and mates on the square? He tells her that she is the only one for him. He loves her with everything he is, her and the girls. He tells her that the best and the worst parts of life are in the past. He grabs the DVD and says even the DVD is gone. Tanya says, “start over, you mean?” He says no start now? What do you say?
Charlie is unpacking the sacks. Jean is worried she hasn’t heard from Stacey. Mo grabs the wine bottle and says OOOH bubbly! Charlie says it’s as good as! Mo says it soon will be! She slaps a label on and tells Jena not to worry as soon Stacey will waltz in asking for them to save her a glass. Jean looks at Mo and replies, “you think?” Charlie replies that, of course, she will.
Stacey tells Rachel she can’t leave. Stacey tells her that she really loves Bradley. Rachel says the trouble is he wasn’t quite enough for her as she had to sink her teeth into his Dad as well. Stacey tells her it didn’t happen like that. Rachel tells Stacey she warned her that day on the steps. Stacey explains that it had already ended at that point. Max was not one to take no for an answer. She tells Rachel she out to know as she married him. Rachel tells her that she let Max over and over. She tells Rachel she had a lot going on inside her, and she didn’t think she was good enough for Bradley.
Stacey tells Rachel that girls like her don’t end up with boys like Bradley. Max was more her level, so she went along with it. Cheap and shabby. That is what I thought I was and deserved. What she didn’t realize is that Max could see all of that going on inside of her, and instead of going for me, he should have helped me, but he didn’t he helped himself. Rachel says you could have thought about Bradley Stacey tells her that’s the thing. She and Bradley weren’t together when she and Max started. I was vulnerable, and Max knew that. Rachel says that Bradley never said. Stacey tells her he wouldn’t have. Rachel wonders why he wouldn’t tell her? Stacey tells Rachel she’s not going there. Rachel pushes, and Stacey tells her it was just another horrible thing she went through. She hands the Valentine to Rachel and asks her to give it to him and tell him that he knows where she is if he wants to talk. Rachel asks her if it was Max? Rachel asks her to tell her. Stacey turns around tearfully. Rachel asks her to tell her. Stacey tells her she wasn’t far off from being a grandma. Rachel asks her what happened? Did she lose the baby? Stacey tells her it was something like that. Rachel begs her to tell her she didn’t have a termination. Stacey begins to sob and explains that she wanted that baby. She explains that Bradley wanted the termination. Rachel doesn’t believe her. Stacey explains it was Max. Max worked on him until he got him to kill their baby. Rachel is shocked.
Max picks up the burnt DVD and smiles widely.
Abi is sleeping on the sofa with the tv on. Tanya rubs her head and whispers it’s going to be alright. Tanya has a determined smile.
Charlie is washing the taxi. Mo and Jean come out and tell him to put a little more elbow into it. Jean asks if he’s going to pick Belinda up? He says no that he just wants things to look nice. Charlie asks what Neville is drinking these days? Mo says whatever they hand him. Charlie wonders if he should grab some flowers? Jean names off a dozen different flowers she likes. Mo says she’s a regular flower fiend! Jean says she used to talk to them. They had some great conversations! Charlie whispers to MO that he can see why Stacey ran off. Charlie asks Mo if she called Belinda, not the other way round? Mo says it doesn’t matter whether she did or didn’t. Charlie smiles and thanks to her.
Tanya calls Max and invites him to lunch. Max is elated and asks if he should bring anything? She says, no just yourself.
Rachel brings Stacey a cup of tea. She tells Stacey she doesn’t know what to say. Stacey says that there isn’t anything to say. Stacey tells her that the only person she needs to protect Bradley from is Max. She tells her that she will go then. Stacey tells her that she just hopes she’s telling her the truth that he is happy. Because if he is not, then he’s just going to get sadder and sadder. Rachel looks pained as Stacey leaves.
Mo, Charlie, and Jean are waiting for Belinda. The phone rings, Charlie answers and it’s her. She is not coming as they are too busy. Charlie is devastated.
Tanya meets Max on the steps with a DVD. She asks him if he really thought she’d only have the one copy, did he? Max replies that he thought they were going to have a bit of lunch? Tanya is shocked. He didn’t recognize the spin of lies as he’s been doing it their whole marriage. Harriet Burgess walks out and introduces herself as Tanya’s solicitor. She figures he got the letter? Max says, yeah. Harriet replies, “good; then I’ll see you in court on the fourteenth then.” Tanya says she’ll drink to that and hands the DVD to her. Max asks if this is her idea of a joke? Tanya tells him she’ll see him in court, and she can’t bloody wait.
Rachel meets Tanya at the bus stop and hands her Bradley’s address. She tells her that if she hurts her son again, she will kill her.
