August 25, 2019 Episode 2 (UK Original Air Date January 17, 2008)

Dawn comes out wrapped in a towel seeking conditioner for her hair. Jase wants to keep her stay discreet, but Jay catches them. Jay is not happy about her being there.
Yolande is pulling out rubbage, and the bags dump out. Yolande calls out for Shirley to help her. Shirley wonders if she’s having a clear-out. Yolande says she shouldn’t have left it so long. Shirley offers up her services. Yolande is grateful. Shirley pulls out a pin and admires it with a snicker.
Jase tries to explain that the night was not a one night stand. Jay wonders where the baby is. Jase tells him she’s not there. Jase tells Jay not to use language like one night stand as it’s disrespectful. Dawn calls out for Jase as she’s left some of her undergarments on the couch. Jay takes the distraction as a way to escape. Jase is torn between going after Jay and helping Dawn.
Outside a gang of boys steal some items from the stall.
Ian asks Jane if her brother and his fellow are vegetarian. He’s guessing as they are gay. Jane is disgusted with him. Jane tells him she doesn’t want to have them at home and tells him they are going to a restaurant. Ian protest and Jane wonders why everything has to turn into an argument with him.
The gang of boys make comments about Dot and say she resembles the night of the living dead. Dot is disturbed by them but forcefully demands they get out of her way. She asks them to leave her alone. Shirley sees them and tells them to leave Dot alone. They continue to talk about Dot. Jay walks up and hands the boys the DVDs. They invite him to steal on the high street with them. Jay gets on the bus for school.
Garry is upset that the only reason that Jase was wearing a red shirt was that Minty spilled his beer on him. Hazel and Heather come home with packages. Garry heads to work and avoids their cheering up.
Dawn is telling Jase how happy she is. She tells him that when she sees Mo, she’s going to give her a big kiss. Mickey calls because Summer is fussy. She tells him she’s still with Jase and will be home soon. Jase is uncomfortable. Dawn asks Mickey if he and Keith want to meet up with them tonight to make it official. She hangs up and asks Jase if he minds. He does but doesn’t say and tells her it’s okay. She clears up the breakfast plates, and it’s a rather a domestic scene.
Yolande and Zainab are chatting. Zainab asks how Mr. Branning is doing. Yolande says that they will know when Dot gets home. Yolande asks Zainab to go to the movies, but Zainab tells her it’s a great idea but tonight is her silver wedding anniversary, and she’s sure Massood has something up his sleeve for her. Zainab tells Yolande that is why she’s having the outfit drycleaned as she must look her best for her husband. She gives Yolande a look that she takes as if to say she doesn’t look her best for Patrick.
Massod, Shirley and Jane discuss anniversary presents as he tells them Zainab told him not to make a fuss. They ask if he’s gotten a gift and he says no. Jane warns him he’s in trouble. Ian walks in and tells her that he’s booked Fargo’s for dinner. Jane interrogates Ian about how they are getting there and makes sure they aren’t coming home with them. Mas talks to Shirley, and she offers up the pin she’s found. She offers it to Mas for 100 quid first then 50, and he declines.
Minty is dressed as a cowboy. Hazel and Heather think this costume will work! Minty takes it off, and he says he’s not wearing this flaming costume. He says he will be in a suit and she will be in a dress, and that is final. He walks away, and his spurs get tangled up in a blanket.
Peggy walks into the kitchen and asks where Ronnie is. She forces Roxy to tell her that Ronnie spent the night at Jack’s. Peggy asks if they’ve not made up and not talking. Peggy tells her she could knock their heads together. Peggy says she is not having bad feelings around the table. She’s gone to a lot of effort for Phil’s birthday, and they are going to have a nice time as a family. Phil interrupts, and she tells him he is not getting out of this dinner.
Mas is telling Zainab about Fargo’s and how it’s the only place special enough to take his wife. She tells him it’s very expensive. He pretends to cancel, and she tells him not to. She asks if he’s spent a lot of money on her and he says no, yes he did with some scrimping and saving. She says he shouldn’t have and she doesn’t deserve him.
Ronnie tells Roxy for Phil’s sake they can forget about it. Roxy asks if she’s going to say the magic word? Sorry, it would be nice. Roxy says she hasn’t even commented on her new shirt. Ronnie tells her it’s an apology gift from their dad, isn’t it? Roxy pretends it’s not, but Ronnie knows. Dot comes in, and Peggy asks if she is alright? Dot says she is not and has had an unpleasant experience this morning and she’s not over it. She tells Peggy she was on the way to visit Jim, and she was abused by thugs. Peggy is shocked. Dot says she went to the police, but they won’t do anything. Peggy gives her the drink on the house. Dot says she went to comfort Jim, but he spent time comforting her, and he can barely talk.
Jay walks up to the gang, and they toss him a cell phone. He tells them he has one. Tegs tells him that now he has another. They offer him a cigarette and Jay turns them down. They offer to have a night out with him, but Jay turns them down. Shirley walks up, and they call her a scrubber. She asks Jay if they are his friends, and he says no. She warns him that he might end up in a scrub school if he hangs out with them.
Mas comes up to Shirley and asks if she still has the pin. She says she does.
Jay comes in, and Jase talks to him about Dawn. He tells Jay that she is not moving in and all. Jay asks him what is for dinner. Jase tells him pizza, and the instructions are on the box. Jay wonders what he’s going to do. Jase tells him that Dawn roped him into going to the pub and spending a bit of time with her brother and step-dad. Jase asks him if he’ll be alright as he won’t be gone long. Jay is upset, but Jase doesn’t catch on.
Zainab tells Yolande that Mas made reservations for them at Fargo’s. Yolande tells her she hopes it’s picked up as it’s not what it used to be. Zainab questions her about it. Yolande tells her maybe they just had a bad experience last time. Zainab asks if they’ve been there a lot? Yolande tells Zainab they’ve been there lots of times and not even for a special occasion. Zainab tells Yolande she hopes she finds something to do with herself while her husband has his pals around. She must go pick up her dry cleaning so she can look her best for Mas.
Jane and Ian are heading out to meet Christian. Lucy asks her if their parents were religious. Jane says they were not in particular. Lucy wonders why they named him Christian. Jane and Ian head off.
Jack comes into the pub, and Ronnie is serving behind the bar. Jack asks how the apology went down. Ronnie tells him it didn’t. Jack invites himself to Phil’s birthday.
Jase tells Keith and Dawn he can’t stay long as he’s left Jay home alone. Keith starts to tell Jase if he’s going to be Summer’s new step-dad and Jase stops and says they haven’t got there yet, have they? Dawn is mortified, and Mickey says they can’t stay long either because Dot has Summer. Keith says he just wants them to know that that little girl means the world to him. Mickey says they should tell Jase about what happened to Dot today, but Keith stops them.
Christian and his boyfriend arrive at dinner. Christian calls Jane Leslee, and he’s rather snippy. He asks Ashley what his therapist would make of the name change. Ashley says he wouldn’t. Christian says he thinks it would show someone is trying to run away from something. The dinner is uncomfortable. Christian brings up David and says he was going to be a tough act to follow, but he thinks Jane’s nailed it. Christian teases Ian and Ashley stops him. Christian points out that Jane is not talking much. He reminds her that it’s been a year since before David died that they last saw each other. Ashley wonders if Jane thinks Christian has changed much? She says he’s not changed at all. He’s exactly as he always was.
Mas gives Zainab the present, and she loves it. She tells him his gift is at home.
Yolande is in the pub and whinges about Zainab being wined and dined by her husband.
Garry is starring at Jase and Dawn and not listening to Minty and Hazel. Jase tells Dawn he’s got to go. Dawn protest. Jase calls Jay and lets him know he’ll be another hour. Dawn is happy. At home, Jay gets a text from the gang.
Zainab and Mas come home and see Yolande. She asks if they had a nice dinner. Zainab shows her the pin that Mas gave her. Yolande tells her she is curious where he bought it. Zainab says from an antique store and paid lots of money for it. Yolande says it’s curious as she gave one to a charity shop there today. Mas loses the color in his face, and Zainab is angry!
The dinner with Jane, Ian, Ashley, and Christian goes downhill. Ashley is having enough. Christian continues to goad her about David. Jane tells him to stop. Ashley tries to get them to leave. Christian says he’s not going anywhere. Christian says that there were only two people he’s ever cared about, and one is Jane, and one is David. Jane tells him David couldn’t stand him and hated him, and that is why he threw him out. Ashley leaves them and Christian. Christian wonders who is going to pay the bill now? Ian is sick when he opens the bill.
Mickey walks Dot home and thanks to her for watching Summer. He leaves, and she’s closing the curtains. The gang is outside her window, and they yell at her. She pulls the curtains closed. Jay walks up to the gang, and they welcome him to the gang. They give him a big knife.
