August 18, 2019 Episode 1 (UK Original Air Date January 11, 2008)

Jack is awakened by his alarm clock and kisses from Ronnie. He teasingly tells her to bring him coffee with no sugar. He reminds her it’s her turn to make breakfast. She asks if he wants to work up an appetite together first.
Ian serves up thickened oats that barely come off the spoon. Peter looks disgusted. Lucy wonders why she has to eat this too? Jane tells her that Ian got it on sale as a case. Ian says it’s full of vitamins and suitable for Peter’s training. Lucy declares she’s sick of Peter’s athletic attention while she gets ignored. Jane gives Ian a look, and he tells Lucy he’s going to surprise her with a new outfit for the disco thanks to her excellent grades. Lucy perks up and inquires about replacing the makeup Bobby ruined. Ian throws a fit huffing and puffing about how nothing he does is good enough for her. She tells him to stuff the new outfit and leaves for school. Jane gives Ian another look. He tells her not to blame him as it wasn’t his stupid idea in the first place.
Tanya is getting the girls ready. Lauren hurries Abi as she’s meeting Peter in the cafe. They wonder why Auntie Rainie wasn’t taking them. Tanya says she has a doctors appointment. The girls say goodbye to Rainie and argue at the door about who they are walking to school with. Tanya asks Rainie when her appointment is for the test. Rainie tells her she has to pop in the clinic and take it. Tanya wonders how long it will be for the results. Rainie thinks about 20 minutes or so. Rainie is worried that Tanya doesn’t trust her. Tanya reminds her it’s not her, it’s Max and proving him wrong. Rainie turns away with a worried look on her face.
Jack and Max are arguing about Ronnie taking up time in the bathroom. Max lets Jack think he’s used the sink for the loo. Jack tells him to disinfect the sink. Max didn’t use the sink he just wanted him to believe that. Jack tells him to disinfect the sink. Max tells him to get Ronnie to do it as it’s woman’s work. Jack says to Max that it’s his small mind with small ideas that cost him his family.
Lauren is helping to show Peter how to get out of exercising. He says he can do it he’s not sure he wants to. He doesn’t want to lie to his dad. Lauren reminds him that the disco tonight. Peter says he has to focus on his training. Lucy tells him to turn it off as their dad isn’t even here to hear him. Peter tells her she is just jealous because he believes in him, and he’s not going to let him down like the rest of them. Peter says he better get off. Lauren offers to walk with him, but he stops her as he has to run to school as part of his training.
Lucy turns her attention back to Lauren and the disco. She tells Lauren she can do so much better than Peter. Lauren tells her that she likes Peter. Lucy plans a trip on the tube to a real disco, not that stupid school disco. Lucy asks her if she likes vodka? Lauren is nervous because her mum is supposed to pick them up after the dance. Lucy says they will concoct a plan. Lauren is to tell her mum that Jane is getting them and she’ll tell Jane that Tanya is getting them. This way, no one is the wiser.
Ronnie walks up on Phil, Roxy, and Billy. She tells them if they are going to talk about her, then do it to her face. Roxy tells her to shut up it ain’t about her! Phil says they are trying to come up with a plan to get Honey to agree to move into Pat’s. Billy tells them that Honey loves being there and being part of the family. Roxy tells Ronnie that Billy thinks about having sex with them. Ronnie is grossed out! Phil’s phone beeps. Ronnie walks over to him and asks if he’s alright? He says yes, but he’s clearly distracted. Phil dolls out the new sleeping arrangements unless they can get Honey to move. Ronnie looks at them and says, don’t worry at the end of the day you’ll be sleeping at Pat’s!
Phil walks into the club to meet Jack. Jack thanks him for coming where they can say what they have to say. Phil asks him if that was all crap he said last night. Jack says no, that was all true. It’s in his best interest to get along with them all for Ronnie. But it isn’t in Phil’s, is it? He plays the tape that Darren gave him of Phil talking about the cut and shuts. Phil stares at Jack with anger in his eyes. Jack tells him he should be more careful picking fights with people he doesn’t know and understand how they react to things like that. Jack tells him well, now, you know. Phil tells him that recording is nothing. Jack tells him it is enough. With all the evidence the police have, it will be enough to take him down and more than. He tells Phil it’s more than enough, him selling Kevin those cars and Kevin dying, to take him down. Jack tells Phil that he’s had his cheap shot and sucker punch, but they are there now, and they can go toe to toe. Jack asks Phil how long will he last? Phil asks him what he wants? Jack says, “for the tape? Nothing. I’m going to give you that back, but it’s a warning Phil. Treat me with respect from now on.” Phil says that is all? Jack tells him that and the car lot for half market price. Phil says no way. Jack says that is too bad for Ben then when the police come to arrest his dad. Phil reminds him he doesn’t own it. Jack says he knows Peggy owns it, but that is not his problem. Phil says if he tells Ronnie about this, it will be over between them. Jack tells Phil that if he speaks of this to Ronnie or threatens Darren, then that tape goes to the police. This is between us he tells Phil and makes things even. I was trying to help you with Louise Jack says. So why don’t you go talk to your bent solicitor Richie Scott and get this sorted. Phil steps in close and asks him if he’s sure he wants to do this? Jack says he’s doing it. Phil walks out, and Jack sits to drink his coffee.
Ronnie is talking to Honey. Honey is shocked by what she’s telling her. Ronnie tells Honey that Roxy is in love with Billy and has been since they came to the square. Honey understands what with Billy being so irresistible. Ronnie tells Honey that it’s been torture for Roxy to have them there. She loves them both, and they are family. Honey knows the power Billy has over people, especially women. Roxy is in the kitchen telling Peggy she’ll go mad if she has to share with Ronnie. She’ll kill her if she has to. Honey overhears the last part. Peggy sees Honey and greets her. Honey tells them they are going to Pat’s today. She tells Roxy that she knows that one day she will find someone who loves her because she is such a wonderful person. Roxy is so confused by this all. Honey walks out of the kitchen to start packing. Peggy nudges Roxy and says they need to help get them into Pat’s before Honey changes her mind.
Phil is speaking with Richie Scott about his options. She wonders why Darren would have recoded him. Phil tells her that Darren blames him for Kevin’s death. She wonders if he’s gotten to the others involved. Phil doesn’t think so. She suggest to Phil that he take the offer. Phil wonders what will stop him from taking more the next time as he knows he’s going to keep copies of the recording. Phil is angry that Jack will be taking his mother’s property. He declares no one blackmails me and gets away with it.
Tanya and Rainie are waiting for the call. The phone rings and Rainie answers and gives consent for them to talk to Tanya. Tanya answers and her face turns sour. She wonders what this will mean for her kids, for her court case. The person on the phone answers her, and all she says is “I see, thank you.” Rainie wonders what they’ve said.
Ian is on the phone and tells them that Ian will be taking Lucy shopping. She hangs up and Ian says he’s not taking Lucy, not after the way she treated him this morning! Jane tells him that she’s not sure which one of them in s the hormonal teenager.
Tanya is chucking Rainie out. Rainie tells her she can’t chuck her out not for this. Tanya yells at Rainie that she said she was clean! Rainie tells her she is. It’s just weed and helps her relax. Tanya tells her that marijuana is still a drug. Rainie tells her it’s not like that. Tanya tells her it’s a class b drug. Rainie tells her that they told her it wouldn’t hurt her court case. She knows because she asked when she took the test. Rainie cries that she didn’t want to do anything but help her not hurt her. Rainie tells her if she’s a danger or a risk she’d have gone on her own. Tanya tells her that the doctor said that she has to consult with her solicitor. Rainie tells her she would take test weekly to show them that she is clean. Tanya replies that Max’s solicitor will say that she is so worried aobut her sister relapsing that they test her weekly. Tanya tells Rainie she just told her if she was a risk she would leave.
Tanya is sorry but she will not risk losing her kids over this. Rainie begs her to let her stay. Tanya apologizes but she can’t take the risk. Rainie picks up her bag and tells Tan to tell the kids goodbye for her. Tanya tells her to wait until the kids get home and they’ll explain themselves. Rainie replies that she doesn’t want to tell them she’s leaving them too. Rainie tells Tanya she’ll come back to see them after the divorce and will bring her own drug testing kit. Tanya tells her she’s not shutting her out, she is still part of this family. Rainie tells her fat lot being clean has gotten her. Tanya tells her to not use this as a reason to relapse but instead show her she wasn’t wrong for putting her out. Rainie asks her for whose sake that is? Hers or Tanya’s?
Phil comes in to find the family and Jack around the bar celebrating. Jack has helped them move Billy and Honey out. Jack asks Phil to come to have a drink with them. Phil declines and asks him, mum, to come have a word. Roxy can’t understand what they did to get Honey to agree. Roxy wonders if Honey is stable in a joking way. Billy says it’s Roxy that is for thinking he’s imagining her and Ronnie in the shower. That is what is mental. Ronnie tells him no one ever mentioned a shower. Billy get flustered and runs off back to the store. Meanwhile, Phil is asking Peggy to witness some papers for Ben’s trust. Jack calls out to Peggy to come have one more for the road. Jack asks Phil to come and join them. Peggy tells Phil to make an effort. Phil watches Jack with that classic Phil look.
Darren is on the car lot working a client. He spies Phil and calls out to him. Phil keeps walking towards him, and Darren starts to run. Phil chases him into the office. Phil tells him he’s wondering what his head would look like inside out. Darren is scared. Phil tells him that Jack picked a good one with him. What did he think he was going to do with that tape? Darren says he’s probably calling the police right now! Phil replies he hasn’t done anything. Yet! He leaves Darren laying on the floor. Jack is playing the recording on his computer.
Max walks up to find Tanya on his doorstep. He tells her Jack is seeing Ronnie Mitchell now. He doubts Jack would want his cast-offs. She tells him that Rainie is gone. Max assumes she’ll be back for visits. Tanya tells him no, not even for visits, so he’ll have to find another way to make her look like an unfit mother. Max says that is not too hard to do really. Tanya tells him that it is Abi he’ll hurt the most. Lauren, she will be ok, but Abi really liked her. It’s your children your damaging here, Max. Max tells her it’s because of the children he’s doing this. Tanya tells him, “you really love that lie, doesn’t he? I really love my children and would do anything for them, except for a quick romp with Stacey.” Max tells her that it is completely different. She wonders why? He knew what he was doing was risking his family, your children, your peace of mind. Max tells her that he already told her it was a mistake. Tanya points out that it didn’t stop him, though. He’s just mad he got caught and doesn’t regret it, not deep down. Tanya tells him he thinks that she will one day forgive him, they’ll go back to playing happy family until the next girl comes along. No, she says, that is not going to happen because she hates to think how young the next girl will have to be.
Lucy and Ian are shopping on Stacey’s stall. Ian says they can go somewhere else to shop. Stacey calls him out on his snobbery. Ian is not happy with Lucy’s choices. The girls ask him if he knows what people wear to dance clubs. He takes the shorts and rips them. Stacey informs him that will be 45 pounds. Lucy walks off as he tells her that is coming out of her pocket money. He tells her she isn’t going to that disco.
Jack tells Darren that he’s an accessory since he let Phil bribe him. Darren freaks out. Jack calms him down.
Phil has Peggy sign the paperwork. She tries to read it, but he doesn’t let her read it. Peggy wonders what this about, and he reminds her it’s just for Ben’s trust fund. Phil is not happy.
Jack tells him chose Darren for a reason. Not many are brave enough to take on Phil Mitchell. He’s offering him an apprenticeship. He can stay and learn how to play the game from him, or he can take some money from Jack and go start somewhere else. Darren accepts, but he’s visibly upset.
Honey and Billy are talking in front of the Vic about how happy they are that they’re in with Pat now. Billy wonders why she changed her mind. Roxy walks out behind them and Honey spies her. She tells Billy he’s really special and has no idea the effect he has on people. He is still confused. Honey tells him she’s not the only girl whose heart he’s stolen. He points to Roxy and Honey tells him if he hadn’t chosen her she’d be suffering too. Billy looks at Roxy and believes she is in love with him. She asks him what he’s looking at and he apologizes.
Peter has a sprained ankle and has to take a break from training. Jane tells Ian that the doctor said that they should consult a professional trainer. Ian scoffs at that thought and says they just want money and he’s got Peter’s best interest in mind. He slaps Peter’s ankle and realizes he’s hit the bad one.
Phil walks into the club with the papers. He puts them down and asks Jack for the tape. Jack hands it over to him. They agree to a new slate with a long-term view.
