August 4, 2019 Episode 1 (UK Original Air Date January 4, 2008)

Phil pulls up near apartments and looks at the address and photo. Back at the Vic Peggy looks at the picture and says it’s Louise. She Jack if Phil knows. Jack replies that he gave Phil the address last night. Ronnie comes in and says she can’t find Phil anywhere. Peggy tells her that she won’t find him.
Phil sees a little girl walking, and he thinks it is Louise, but it is not. His phone rings, and it’s Peggy. She asks Phil where he is. He starts to lie, and she calls him out on it. She demands he get himself right back to the square.
Abi asks Max what it meant that Grandma said that Bradley needed to find his path. Max places his bags down by the door. Lauren says it probably means he’s having a nervous breakdown. Max tells them both it just means that he has to sort himself out, and when he does, he’ll come back. Abi asks if that is what he’s doing? He tells her it is sort of. She asks if he’ll still visit them. Max looks at Tanya. He tells the girls that they can come to visit him at Jacks. Max tells Abi and Lauren that they can still go bowling, the movies, etc. Abi asks, “this isn’t forever, right?” Max tells Abi that he and her mum have a lot of talking to do. But whatever happens, they are the most important things in their lives. Lauren doesn’t believe him and runs off. Tanya tells him she will talk to Lauren.
Libby and Chelsea stare at the urn holding Kevin. Libby asks if this is him? Definitely Kevin? Chelsea tells Libby that it is him. Libby says she guesses it’s just a representative sample of him. She figures it would be easy to devise an experiment. Chelsea stops her and tells Libby to shut up, that is Kevin you are talking about! He’s not some ingredient in an experiment! Libby apologizes. Denise comes in and wonders what the problem is. Libby says it was her fault as she was being insensitive. Denise says that’s not like Libby. She tells her not to worry. Denise tells her she’s been to see Yolande and she is so excited for them to stay with her. Denise sees the urn. Libby tells her Carly brought it round while she was gone. Denise says she’s not sure how she’s meant to feel about it. She asks if any of them have any ideas? Libby says sad is a good place to start. Denise tells them she’s had all these weird emotions coming in, and then she realizes everything has gone all black. She wonders where this excitement is coming from. Chelsea reminds her she has a big adventure coming up. Denise wonders if they have a problem with her going. They agree that it’s good for her. Chelsea is short with Denise when she asks her if she is sure they’ll be ok. Denise says her decision making might not be good with everything going on. Chelsea snaps at her again that she is sure.
Carly is packing, and her phone is ringing. It’s Shirley on the other end, but Carly doesn’t answer.
Ian is helping explain how this is all going to work with Steven. Ian calls out to Jane for her support, and she doesn’t turn around but yells back, “yes, sure!” Jane doesn’t look too happy about it all. Max comes into the cafe with his duffel bag. Stacey wonders if he’s been kicked out. Max tells her not the case at all, and he walked there. She tells him it’s all coming back on him. He tells her that it’s coming back on them both. Max wonders if she’s seen her brother lately as he’s got a new girl. Stacey wonders why it matters. Max asks Stacey when the last time she saw Sean. She tells him she doesn’t know. Max implies Sean must be keen on this one. Max tells Stacey she should talk to her brother about his love life.
Sean and Tanya are making out on the couch. She feels his bullet wound. She asks him if someone shot him. He teases that he was wondering what that was. She asks him about the Army. He tells her what it was like being in the Army. She wonders if he ever killed anyone. He tells her about it and how to do that you have to be dead inside. He tells her that is what he was for years until he met her.
Shirley arrives at Pat’s and tries to get her to answer the door. Inside Chelsea, Libby and Carly hide. Carly says she wonders what Shirley is going to say when she finds out she isn’t coming back.
Phil and Peggy look at the photo of Louise and a mate. Peggy says, “eight flaming miles away.” Who would have thought she was this close all these years. They wonder what school she might go to. Phil says she should be living with them, there with her brother. Phil gets up, and Peggy wonders where he is going. He says he has to see her! Peggy stops him from going. She tells him if he goes, Lisa will do a runner, and they will never have the chance to see her. She asks him to wait there and let her speak with Richie Scott.
Jane comes in the house, and Steven scares her. She tells him he didn’t. Steven thanks her but she bluntly tells him to thank Ian.
Libby goes to Shirley and tells her that Carly doesn’t want to see her, but she should know Carly is not coming back.
Stacey calls Sean to check in with him. He doesn’t answer, and she leaves a message about needing some help with boxes.
Shirley comes to see Carly and wonders why she wasn’t going to tell her she wasn’t coming back. Carly tells her she doesn’t think there is much left for her there anymore. Denise comes in and overhears Chelsea making plans to go stay with Kim. Denise asks her why she’s making alternative plans and when was she going to tell her that she wasn’t staying with her sister? She was counting on her staying with Libby. Chelsea tells Denise that maybe she should have spent a little more time on what they needed than herself. Denise tells her that this is meant to help Carly. Chelsea snaps, “oh poor flamin Carly.” Denise reminds her that she just lost her father. Chelsea yells “well I lost my dad twenty years ago, and I don’t remember you forking out to take me around the world!” Denise is shocked. Denise tells her she was just a baby, and he isn’t dead! Chelsea says that no one ever talks about him. Denise reminds her that her father was not a nice person and was scum. Denise wonders if her being in prison has shaken things to the surface. Chelsea tells her that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Chelsea tells Denise to enjoy her holiday. Denise tells her she’s just lost her husband and she’s not losing her too. Denise declares that she is staying put.
Shirley asks Carly why she is so angry? Carly asks her if she wants a list? Shirley tells her she’s familiar with the list and she’s about the here and the now! Shirley wants to know what’s at the front of her mind? Carly says she doesn’t need this. Shirley says she can see that she wants to hit her. She can see that she wants to put your fist in my face? Why? Carly tells her, “because why was it you he had to be with? Why couldn’t it have been me? I can see how this scene plays out. I see my dad in pain, and he’s dying and who does he see? Not his doting kids or the wife that he loves so much. No, he spends it with some lying, manipulative, clapped-out old tramp!”
Sean finds Stacey in the cafe. She wonders why he’s had his phone turned off. Sean smiles and says he doesn’t know, maybe the battery. She asks him if he doesn’t have a new girlfriend. He tells her no with a big goofy grin. She says it’s probably just down to Bradley leaving that has her a bit loopy. Tanya comes in and smiles when she sees Sean, but Stacey noticed.
Peggy comes in and finds a note from Phil. The note says, “mum make up a bed I’m bringing her home.” Phil is outside of Louise’s school.
Peggy has gone shopping for Louise. Roxy comes in and says, “So it’s true!” Peggy says that yes, Louise is coming to stay with them. Phil must have spoken with Lisa and made arrangements. Roxy tells her that Ronnie was worried that he was going to snatch her. Roxy wonders if he’s paid off Lisa. Peggy says she doesn’t know, but somehow he’s found a way.
Phil is in front of the school. He thinks he’s missed Louise and walks back to his car and then he sees her. A woman grabs Louise and another girl. Phil follows them.
Chelsea is sitting in the cafe. Libby comes in and tells her that mum wants to go. Libby says” All the relationships mum has had all flew out of control. And now, Kevin. This will give her a chance to end things on her terms. Libby tells her that she won’t go unless Chelsea is ok with it.
Stacey is talking to Steven about the possibility of Tanya and Sean being together. Steven thinks that would be the ultimate betrayal. Stacey wonders if she’s trying to take Sean away from her. Jane comes in and asks Steven what “she’s” doing there. Stacey tells Jane that she does have a name. Jane tells her she’s trying not to use it in front of Bobby. She sends Bobby upstairs. Steven apologizes and says he didn’t realize there was a problem between Jane and Stacey. Jane tells him, “Steven if you want to stay here, you’ll need to learn some rules. Rule number one is the only tart that is allowed in my kitchen have got jam on top.” Stacey says, “you see what I have to put up with! The only people who don’t judge me are my mm and Sean.” Steven grabs her and says him too.
Carly is looking around the house. Pat comes to tell her that the cab is there. She gives Carly a gift of a locket with Kevin’s picture in it. Carly thanks her. Pat reminds her that love never dies.
Phil is at the park and finds Louise. She tosses her ball over, and he grabs it. Phil gives it back to her but calls her by her name. He says she is good at catching. She asks for her ball back. He wonders if she knows who he is. She tells him that her mummy says she shouldn’t talk to strangers. He tells her that he’s her daddy. That he and her mum Lisa used to live together in Walford. Louise tells him he’s not her daddy and points to her daddy. Phil tells her he promises he is her daddy. She runs off to the man she calls Daddy.
Denise tells Libby to keep her school work up. Chelsea brings out Kevin’s urn. Carly and Pat come out as well. Carly goes to say goodbye to Dawn.
Peggy tells Roxy she’s running out for food. She doesn’t know what she even likes to eat! Jack comes in, and Roxy tells him that he’s the man of the hour as they may have another at the table for dinner thanks to him.
Shirley is completely drunk. Ronnie sends her out of the pub and to her home. Shirley leaves and walks out in time to see Carly. Carly stops the cab and tells her mum goodbye. Shirley turns to leave as they pull off and Vince nearly runs her over.
Steven is telling the family about life with Simon and all his girlfriends. Ian wonders how Steven learned to cook so well. He says he had no choice. Simon didn’t cook. Jane is clearing the table.
Stacey sees Sean going into Tanya’s.
Steven asks Jane why did she agree to have him there if she didn’t want him there? She says it’s just going to take time to get used to having another person in the home. Steven says she’s lying. Jane says, “I’m lying? Oh well, I guess it takes one to know one. You know what you are right. I didn’t want you here. You make my skin crawl. But since they looked at me as the only barrier to having him there and having the perfect family I figured I’d give some rope, just enough for him to hang himself with because you can’t keep that poor little boy act up forever. And when that mask slips you’ll be the one packing your bags, and I’ll have my family back.”
Stacey arrives at Tanya’s asking to speak to her brother. Tanya tries to stop her and wonders what nerve she has. Sean gets up. Stacey yells at Sean that he lied to her. Tanya tosses her out. Stacey says, “you think you got him good, don’t you?” Tanya says she can’t help he has feelings for her. Tanya thinks it’s pathetic a girl her age pinning for her brother. Sean tells Tanya to leave it. Stacey tells Tanya that if he really cared for her, then why didn’t he tell Tanya about her and Max? He’s known about it for a long time and never said a word. Tanya is shocked as Sean turns to look at her.
Phil comes in, and Peggy calls after him. He tells her just to leave it. Jack watches. Peggy wonders if he talked to Louise. Phil tells her that he doesn’t want to talk about it and the information was wrong. He walks through, and Jack follows him. Jack tells Phil he hopes he knows he had to call in a big favor for this and isn’t blaming him if the information was wrong. Phil says he found her alright. Phil wonders why Jack never thought to mention that she had another dad. He punches Jack and tells him never to step foot in his pub again, or he’ll kill him. Peggy and Ronnie arrive in the kitchen to witness the aftermath. Ronnie helps Jack sit up.
