July 14, 2019 Episode 2 (UK Original Air Date December 31, 2007)

Shirley spots Kevin and Phil pulling a car into the Arches. She listens in as Phil tells Kevin the car is amateur hour, and he should take it to get crushed immediately. The car starts and Shirley moves out of sight.
Abi asks Tanya if she can go to Ben’s later to watch DVDs. Lauren says, “if she’s going over to Ben’s I’m going to Lucy’s!” Abi says Lauren is just going to sneak out. The girls argue, and Tanya hushes them. The doorbell rings, and it’s Max. He wonders why Tanya isn’t back at work. He offers to take the girls out, and Tanya tells him no. She wonders if he’ll go out looking for another teenage girl to grope. Max tells her that her true colors are showing. The girls wish Max a happy new year, and he leaves.
Yolande catches Kevin driving her car. She knocks on the window and wonders what he’s doing in her car.
Dawn and Shabs plan their night out. Dawn wonders what her mum will say. Shabs tells her that she’s been discussing it with her Dad and she has decided to be straight with her mum. Garry walks past and Dawn wonders what he’s doing for New Year’s Eve. He says just the usual drinks in the pub until he’s drunk. Dawn winks at him.
Yolande and Kevin discuss her car. Kevin does his best to talk her out of the car, but she’s not having it. She thinks he’s mad because she’s gotten a bargain. Kevin sabotages the motor to try to deter her.
Jack is flirting with Ronnie in the pub when Max comes in angry. Ronnie tells him she’ll bring their drinks over. Roxy tells them to go ahead and get on with it already. Ronnie plays coy and says it’s just business. Roxy teases her still and calls her out.
Kevin is sitting in the cafe, and Shirley sits down. He tells her she curdled his milk. Shirley tells him that wasn’t nice. She tells him his new year’s resolution should be to be nice to her. She tells him he’s gone and sold Yolande a dodgy car. He wonders what she’s been doing to help Dean. She threatens him, and Kevin gets up and walks out. She continues to badger him about the possibility of Yolande getting in an accident. She pushes Kevin, and he wonders what she wants as it is typical of her to screw someone over when she has something over them.
Denise is packing, and she plans a nice meal for Chelsea when she gets home. Kevin tries to leave, but she stops him. He’s desperate to get to the car.
Tanya and the kids are walking past the Vic after a shopping trip. Max comes out and wonders what she’s out doing spending money. He insults her and says for her not to flirt with the first bloke she can. Jack tries to stop him. Max walks off, and Jack gives Tanya a “forgive me” smile.
Carly is helping Yolande get her car running again. Kevin runs up to them with boxes in hand. They are in the car and Carly is going to give Yolande a driving lesson. Kevin bangs on the window and tries to stop them with having them come to help Denise make dinner. They tell him they can do it when they get back. Kevin tries one last time telling Carly he needs to talk to her about Shirley, but Carly isn’t interested. They drive off, and Kevin is shaken.
Tanya is home, and there is a knock. She yells out, “go away.” Sean calls out that it is just him. She comes to open the door for him, sprucing herself up. He tells her he saw the incident with Max and she shouldn’t let him get to her like that. She has a go at him, and he tells her not to take it out on him. He goes to leave, but she stops him. She asks him what he’s doing later.
Denise is set to go pick up Chelsea. She wonders how she looks. He tells her she is beautiful. Kevin tells her that the money that has been coming in may not continue at the same rate. Denise wonders why. Kevin tells her that his supplier is branching out and he won’t be able to mark up the motors like he has been. She tries to get him to let her call the supplier to sweet talk him. She begs Kevin not to tell him that they can’t move. He tells her it might take a little longer. She is visibly upset. Kevin tells her he will sort it.
Roxy figures Ronnie has it bad. Ronnie tells her she wants to know he’s right. Roxy tells her she is in serious danger of overthinking this. She finds Max’s keys. She sets a plan in motion for a surprise for him. Garry comes into the Vic with Minty. Garry thinks that Dawn might have a surprise in store for him. Minty warns him that might not be the case.
Yolande and Carly arrive back home, and Kevin is relieved. He thanks God that they are alright. Yolande tells him she’s not that bad of a driver. Carly laughs and says she’s pretty good. Carly wants to discuss Shirley.
Zainab is giving Shabnam a guilt trip about her wanting to go out. Shab tells her she won’t go. Zainab continues to take digs at her for not spending New Year’s Eve with her. She insults her further
Tanya drops off Abi with Ben and heads to take Lauren to Lucy’s.
Heather is broody with Vince and Shirley. Shirley says she loves her earrings. Heather tells her she didn’t think they were her style. Carly comes over to the table. She tells Shirley that Kevin told her she wanted to spend the evening with her. Shirley says maybe an hour as she figured she would want to go clubbing with her mates. Carly tells her she would not want to spend any time with her. Vince yells at her for talking to her mum like that. Carly tells him that Shirley has spent the better part of the year making everyone else swallow her lies, but she is not going to take it.
Kevin walks out and looks at Yolande’s car. He grabs a brick and smashes the window. Phil catches him trying to hotwire it and wonders why it’s still there. Kevin tells him he can’t get his hands on the keys. Phil tells him just to get rid of it. Ian walks up and is ready to go through the inventory of the house. Kevin tells Ian he will take full responsibility for any damages to the house when they move out. Ian tells him to chillax.
Denise arrives home without Chelsea. She tells Kevin she wasn’t there. He grabs her into a big hug.
Ronnie lets herself into Jack’s flat and sets the mood there for a romantic night. She gets a text from him wondering where she is. She texts him back that she is somewhere she shouldn’t be, and he should press the buzzer to find her.
Patrick, Yolande, Denise, and Kevin worry about where Chelsea is. The door slams, and it is Chelsea. Libby hugs her. Denise jumps up and grabs her and hugs her. Chelsea says that she just wanted to be on her own for a bit. She tells them she wants to shower and get a good nights sleep. She leaves them all sitting at the dinner table.
Garry is all dressed up for the evening. He thinks Dawn is excited to go out for the evening when she asks him for a big favor.
Denise wonders how she can help Chelsea. Chelsea tells her to leave her alone. Denise tells her that she was hoping they could see the new year in together. Chelsea explains what prison was like for her and how she didn’t sleep. She tells Denise she just needs a bit of quiet and to be on her own. Denise leaves her. Chelsea cries.
Denise comes back into the kitchen and tells everyone that she wants to be on her own for a bit. Denise tells them all they should go out to the pub for a bit to leave her on her own for a bit. Chelsea sits in the living room alone.
Carly asks Sean if he’s going to the club later. He tells her he doesn’t think so. Patrick tells her that he’s a fool.
Sean arrives at Tanya’s. He hands her the wine and tells her that he’s never done this before. She tells him to open the wine, and she’ll take his jacket.
Kevin tells Denise he’s got to run off for a bit and he’s going to see the supplier. Denise is excited that things have turned around. He orders drinks for them all. Phil wonders what he’s doing stalling. He tells him he needs to get that motor gone. He tells him he’s trying. Ian tells Yolande about her car window and how Kevin knew about it. Yolande wants to go see it, but Kevin tells her that he will take care of it. Denise wonders how since he’s going to see the supplier. He tells her that they are all on the same row. She tells Kevin she wants him back there for her kiss at midnight. He promises her he will be. He gives her a boyish grin and walks out.
Outside he’s getting ready to leave when Shirley stops him and accuses him of telling Carly to say all those things to her. He tries to back up over her but stops. He gets out, and they argue about her grassing him up. He puts her in the car and takes off.
Garry is stuck babysitting for Summer. Minty teases him but then has a change of heart and says he will call Hazel and see if she fancies a night in with him instead. He sends Garry off to enjoy himself.
Kevin is nearly to the car crushers, and the car runs out of petrol. He tells Shirley to get out and push the car as it’s only a quarter of a mile. He gets out and tries to push. She yells at him that he won’t make it. They push the car and lose control of it, and it crashes into the car crushers. The workers are closed up early and won’t stop for Kevin. He begs them to stop.
Ronnie is all dolled up with the bell rings. She thinks it’s Jack, but it’s really Roxy who comes to the door. Ronnie is angry. Roxy says she’s planning on trying the same idea on Jase. She just needs Ronnie’s opinion. Slutty or really slutty. Ronnie leaves, and Roxy tells her not to blame her for her cold feet.
Shirley gives Kevin a hard time about trying to disguise the car. Kevin says he just wants to get back to his normal boring life. She finds supplies to siphon gas from a car so they can drive it around, make it look like vandals got it then torch it.
Tanya tells Sean how she thought he was when she first met him, but she reckons there is something else going on in there. She wonders if he always sidesteps questions. He says, usually. She teases him and then says that he is different around her. He tells her that she makes him uneasy. She wonders in what way. He doesn’t answer, and she says they are out of wine. He gets up to go get more. She says she’ll go and tells him to make himself comfortable. She heads to the Vic for wine. Max comes up to tell her he was wondering when she would make an appearance. She tells him she’s actually having a night in with a friend. Max wonders what friend. She just smiles and walks out.
Kevin is finished with the gas and wonders why he shouldn’t pour it over the backseat. Shirley tells him he needs to do a few handbrakes turns or can’t he do them anymore? He gets in the car after putting the gas tank down, and Shirley drops her cigarette. He takes off doing handbrakes, and they have the time of their lives like 14-year-olds again. He stops and asks if he can stop now and she tells him one more go. He says that he wants to get back to Denise. She tells him one more, and he takes off. He takes off and spins around the corner the bonnet flips up, and the tire blows, the car flips, and they wreck.
