Dot picks up Jim’s broken mug and runs her finger down the crack. She’s visibly upset.
Ian is on the phone negotiating a price when Lucy tells him she knows what she wants for her birthday. She wants a party. Peter reminds her it’s their birthday. Jane comes down the stairs, and Ian helps her. Lucy asks if Jane is alright. Ian chucks Lucy off to school and asks Jane if she’ll be alright to get to the hospital on her own. He gives her money and says no expenses spared for her.
Mo asks Stacey and Bradley if they got chucked out because of a broken mug. In the kitchen, Jean breaks a dish. Mo yells out to her that it is alright there are plenty more where that came from.
Jack is having a delivery unpacked at the club. It’s a pool table, and he thinks it’s great for the VIP lounge. Ronnie picks up two balls and squeezes them. He looks at her and says, “ouch.”
Steven is wringing out wet clothes on his stall. Stacey tells him he should just go home.
Hazel pops out of a box and surprises Minty in lingere. He’s chuffed and pleased that she’s remembered.
Jack and Ronnie continue to go round about who is running the club. Phil walks in on them. Ronnie tells him that Jack wants to rent the venue for a private party. Jack walks off and tells her “nice pool table.”
Carly, Dawn, and Shabnam have a giggle at the cafe. Carly is off to get her glasses and accidentally bumps into Jase. Shabs tells him it’s alright she didn’t see where she was going. Minty and Hazel come in all giggly as well about their adventures that morning.
Garry comes home, and Heather runs to him. She tells him he needs to put something on his burn. He tells her he is just weathered from the Banana Boat. Heather tells him they can do silly things on holiday if his mum and Minty win the contest she’s entered them into for their wedding. Gus comes up and says that he needs to put something on his burn. He tells them he’s meeting his new girlfriend tonight. Heather is sad.
Dot is on the phone with the care clinic Jim is at. She asks how he’s going to get better if he is not eating. Steven burst in and takes clothes out of a dryer to put in his stuff. He tells her it’s an emergency. Dot looks upset.
Jane is off to the hospital and Tanya tries to help but feels helpless.
Jack is working out, and Ronnie pops round to tell him she’s sent the machines back. He asks her about the pool table. She tells him they’ll be opening at, not 7 pm. He tells her she has to decide which side she is on. She needs him and tells her she can’t serve the Mitchells and make money running her place. She tells him he needs her too and she walks out.
Steven’s clothes are ruined. Dot is observing them, and he has some nasty pop at her about being a meddling old bit when Heather comes in. She sends Steven on his way.
Steven looks on at the cafe and is more frustrated. He spots a sign for Mince Pie and Tea for a special price. He smirks.
Hazel talks to Ronnie about a party for Minty.
Heather helps by getting Dot a tea and pulls out biscuits from her pockets, purse. Dot wonders if she always carries this many biscuits. Dot asks if she shouldn’t be getting off to the Minut Mart? Heather tells her she will be but invites her around later on for a tea. Dot accepts as it’s her Christian duty.
Roxy and Ronnie are chatting about how Ronnie helped them get a gig of their own. Roxy is listening to music and fancies herself a full-on DJ. Ronnie tells her to get a move on as she has work to do. Ronnie speaks with a solicitor about looking over a contract for her.
Dawn has new contacts and glasses. Jase tells her she looks smart in them. She tells him she always looks smart. Steven brings mince pie for Shabs, Carly and Dawn. He tells them they have to pay for tea or coffee, though. He’s selling mince pie and tea or coffee for a quid, undercutting the cafe.
Garry is showing Gus a photo of Becky, his new girlfriend. Hazel comes in happy to see Garry. He tells her he knows about the contest and she and Minty can make fools of themselves in the national press. He tells her about Becky. Hazel tells him he needs to put something on the burn.
Lucy goes into the chippy to talk to her dad about the party. She comes out and gives her waiting friends the thumbs up. Peter and Lauren chat and he realizes she might like him too.
On the market, Ian walks up to Steven’s stall and tells him he can’t do this. Steven tells him he will have to get in line. He’s full of himself, and Ian points out he can’t sell food and drink on the market due to health and safety. He tells Ian he’s just jealous and yells it out towards Jane, who is getting out of a cab. Ian calls Bradley and tells him he’ll need to get back on the market right away. Steven tells him he can’t handle the competition. Lucy walks up, and Steven is in a right state. She tells him that Ian is a control freak. Steven spills hot tea on his hand. He looks at his stall in anger.
Dot arrives at Heather’s for tea. She’s served Dot tea in a naked man mug. Heather asks her to exchange mugs with her. Heather asks her how her sandwich is. Dot says the cucumber gives her indigestion. Heather offers her a variety of sponges. Dot asks her about prayer. Heather says she’s not much for church. Dot explains the works of the Lord to her. Dot offers a decent recipe for a sponge.
Lucy and Steven discuss Ian. Steven says Ian must hate him. Lucy says if he did he’d be in jail. Lucy says give him time. Steven leaves.
Jane is having tea at Tanya’s and tells her that seeing the look on Steven’s face reminded her of that night all over again. She wishes she never had to set eyes on him.
Jack comes in to talk to Ronnie and tells Phil to give her a message. He tells him to tell Ronnie that from now on, they’ll be doing things his way. Roxy sees a sign on the club that says “opening at 7 pm)
Shirley comes in and wonders why Heather hasn’t given her a proper drink. Shirley says they have some port there. Dot sneaks off. Shirley turns around and sees Heather praying in front of George Michael.
Dawn and Shabnam are in the pub. Dawn tells her how she can’t get her contacts in so she can’t see a thing. Roxy comes in and is searching for Ronnie as she just saw they were opening at 7 pm. Peggy is confused.
Jane comes in and calls out to Peter, Lucy or Ian. Steven speaks up and and Jane demands him to leave.
Dot comes into her empty dark home.
Jane tells him that she doesn’t want him there. He tells her he never meant for that to happen. She asks him why he had a gun that night. He tells her he never meant to shoot her.
Heather comes in and finds Garry alone. Becky text and breaks up with him. Heather thanks George!
Jane details for Steven all the things she can’t do because of him. He tells her again he never meant to. She tells him she has all that to deal with and all because he didn’t mean to shoot her. And now he’s gone and broken into their home. Lucy pops in and tells Jane he used her keys.
Garry and Dawn come in, and he’s telling her about Becky. Dawn and Jase flirt. Peggy, Phil, Roxy come into the club to confront Ronnie about opening earlier than agreed. Ronnie tells them she made the decision and changed her mind. Jack looks on.
Ian walks up to hear Lucy, Jane and Steven arguing. Jane crumples over in pain as Ian walks in. He grabs Steven and tosses him out. Steven yells he’s still family.
Peggy, Phil, Roxy, and Ronnie are arguing about the club when Jack walks in. He tells them that he and Ronnie are partners in the club. Peggy, Roxy, and Phil don’t look happy at all.
