Sean and Jean are standing there when the police begin pounding on the door. Jean makes her way to answer the door and Sean goes to hide. Jean tries to put them off, and they insist on coming in. The police come in and start to look around. One begins to head towards Sean, but Jean redirects him.

Vicky tells Jase that he looks a mess. She tells Jase that this is his fault and accuses him of being a part of the beating Dee took. Jase swears he had nothing to do with it. She lists all the things done to Dee and tells Jase even if Dee did want to talk to him he can’t.

The police tell Jean they just want to speak to Sean about the incident with the boy on the square. They say he assaulted him. Jean blames Mo, and they tell her that she didn’t tell them anything. One of the police officers is looking at Stacey’s postcard, and Jean goes off on her. They tell her if she sees Sean have him give them a ring.

Pat brings some of Steven’s clothes to him.

Sean asks Jean if she is alright. She mentions she will need to vacuum the floor since they didn’t wipe their feet. Sean thanks her for lying for him. She tells him she didn’t lie. He doesn’t love her and wouldn’t come to her if he was in trouble. Sean tells her that he was protecting her with the boy. Jean tells him that he scared her more. She wonders where he got that streak in him. She asks him about the pills, and he yells he only took them the once. She asks him why he is there. He tells her he’s trying and stops. She asks him why he ran away. He turns it back on her and asks her why she has all those pills stashed around the house. He asks if she is going to store them all up and take them one day. She asks him again why he ran away. He tells her that he couldn’t cope. She pushes him and tells him this is the moment where he should be honest. He gets up to leave. She asks again why he’s running away. He tells her that he’s not running, he’s walking away because he can’t take her needling and poking and pushing. She tells him to go on then. She tells him that she sees him and she knows him and he better deal with it before he kills someone.

Vicky tells Jase he should go. Jase tells her he knows it was him that grassed him up. She tells him they were all out of control and they loved it all. Jase tells her that he doesn’t want anything to do with it anymore. He’s raising his boy, and he just wants to be free from it. Vicky tells him to look at Dee. She doesn’t care what he wants to do with his life. She tells him to go and to be on the watch for his safety and his boys.

Tanya comes to see Jane and she is elated. Jane tells her she needs some gossip as she’s bored to tears. Tanya sends her to sit down and makes some tea.

The counselor comes in as Pat and Steven are playing cards. He tells her Steven has given him permission to talk to him. She says they are in the middle of a card game. He says to come to grab him when they are done.

Sean arrives home. Mo jabbers on about her shipment that is all wrong. Sean sees his postcard from Stacey. It says thanks for not saying anything. She’s made the right choice. Mo goes on about how she didn’t think he’d be back so soon. He says his mum’s flat is too small. Mo makes a pop about Jean and Sean gets angry and tells her not to talk about his mum like that. He walks out of the kitchen and tells Mo he’s going away.

Tanya goes on about the baby and Jane looks pained. Tanya thinks she’s worn her out and tells her she will come round again tomorrow.

Ian calls Billy into the Cafe.

Sean leaves and Mo is chasing after him asking him when he’ll be back. He runs into Tanya and asks her to come with him. She turns him down and says that even though she’s heavily pregnant, he’s still after her. He tells her hand on his heart that he wouldn’t lay a finger on her. She tells him he has problems that need sorting. He tells her she is right. Max sees them talking and wonders what Sean’s said to Tanya. Sean tells him nothing. Max has a go at him and tells him he’s never going to say anything. Sean tells him he’s right he’s not, but Tanya is still going to find out the truth one day. On that day he’s going to string him up by his guts. He tells Max the day is coming.

Ronnie discovers Jack bought Scarlett’s. Ronnie is angry as he knew she wanted that club. He tries to keep her designs, and she tells him no. She asks him what he knows about running a club. He says nothing but it can’t be that hard since she does it. She wishes him all the luck in the world, but she’s going. He tells her he would make a go of it with her running the club. She asks him why she would want to work for him. He tells her not for him but with him.

Ian reads Billy the riot act about not doing his job well. He tells him that if he catches him skiving off, he’ll dock his wages. Billy reads him the riot act right back. Billy reminds him that he disappeared off the face of the earth and left everyone to pick up the pieces for him, especially Jane. He should be at home taking care of his missus as a proper bloke would do. Billy tells Ian he can fire him now that he’s had his say because he’s not taking it back. Ian doesn’t look angry anymore but rather embarrassed. He gets up, tells Billy he’s lucky and leaves ordering the cafe to reopen.

Jack tells Ronnie he wants her to run the club, and manage it. He would be a silent partner, and she would look like the owner. He leaves, she runs it, and everyone is a winner. He tells her to take a gamble on him and take a chance.

Steven and Pat finish their card game and the counselor comes back in. Steven tells Pat not to be nervous.

Jay is embarrassed that his Dad came to pick him up from school. He tells him he’s got a reputation to uphold. He asks his Dad what is for dinner and realizes Jase hasn’t done the shopping yet. Jase orders him to go home, not open the door as he’s late with the rent and it’ll be Ian.

Ian brings the kids home and Bobby gives Jane a big hug. The kids are happy to see her, but Lucy looks nervous. Jane tells Ian she needs to speak with him upstairs.

The counselor tells Pat she’s the only family member who’s been to see him. He wonders about his relationship with his biological father and step-father. He wonders why Ian wants him to keep Steven there indefinitely. Pat lets him know that there is no chance that Ian will embrace him. He wonders where Steven will go.

Jane is angry that Ian hasn’t told the truth about what happened to her. Ian tells her he didn’t know what to say. It was easier to say it was her appendix. Jane wonders why he was trying to keep people from her. He says he wasn’t, but she tells him Tanya told her. He says that he didn’t want her to be overwhelmed. She asks him why he doesn’t want to talk about the truth, what really happened and what happened to her. Because he doesn’t talk to her at all. She is in pain from being upset.

Jase calls the pub and tells them to let Terry know he’s gotten the message.

Peggy and Roxy come in and Ronnie tells them she got the club. They celebrate her success. Jack locks up the club.

Jane asks Ian if he never wanted kids with her. Ian tells her that is not true. She tells him he must have loved it when the doctor came out to tell him she needed a hysterectomy. She tells him it must have been easy to tell them to take her womb out and toss it in the bin. He tells her he thought she was going to die and all that mattered was that she was alive. He asks her what she wants. She says I’m sorry. He misunderstands and thinks she is saying it to him. She screams at him that he has not said he was sorry. She tells him to get out of their room.

Pat tells Steven that he is going to come live with her.
