March 17, 2019 Episode 2 (UK Original Air Date November 2, 2007)

Ronnie and Roxy discuss how to get rid of Auntie Peggy and the poker game. Ronnie is confident she can beat Jack.

Jean is chipper and Mo is nursing a hangover. Jean tells Sean she was looking forward to spending the day with him yesterday, but he was all over the place. Sort of had a “man on a mission” look on his face. Sean just walks out.

Jack is in the post office and tells Shabnam she’s shorted him a tenner. Ronnie comes in and doesn’t believe him. She chases after him and tells him she’s not worried. He tells her that she’s following him around. She yells after him that she did need stamps.

Jean is putting it on thick with Sean that she is happy to spend time with him. He tells her the wedding is over and she could push off towards home now. She keeps pushing about how she just wants to spend time with her boy. Sean says he needs some air and leaves.

tells Shabnam that she must have been mistaken about the twenty-pound note from Jack. Shabs is determined she put it right where it belonged. Her mum pulls it out from right where she put it, with the other tenners. Shabs starts to say something to her mum but stops. They discuss Sayed, and she says that he knows where they live and he’ll show up when he’s ready.

Ronnie is pushing hard for Peggy to take the night off and head to Auntie Sal’s. Peggy protest and says that Sal is always busy on Friday nights. Ronnie has it all sorted, and they must get Shirley in, or it’s all off.

Jack is soliciting players and is talking to Patrick trying to convince him to play. Yolande comes in and tells Patrick no! Pat says she’s up for a game.

Shabnam and Carly discuss her plight of not working in the post office. Carly tells her she should just quit.

Jean and Dot are looking at the wedding photos. Jean asks if there are any of Sean. Dot says there doesn’t seem to be. She wonders why. Jean says she just wants proof that he was there. Jean and Dot discuss Nick and Dot tells her that she should talk to Sean while she has the chance. Jean asks if it would make a difference. Dot says it might.

Sean is in the park and spots Tanya and Max walking through the park. He smarts off. Tanya wonders what he’s on about. Sean says it was a nice day for Stacey and Bradley. He’s lucky Max is as most fathers-in-law don’t get on with their daughters-in-law. Max starts to say something and Tanya sends him off to get tea.

Shabnam comes in to quit and ends up in night school because her mum has it all set up.

Roxy convinces Shirley to work for double wages.

Tanya and Sean are talking, and she wonders if it has anything to do with him asking her if she’d met him first would she have chosen him. He tells her it isn’t about that at all, and it’s about what he knows, but he stops himself. Tanya tells him he needs to grow up. She tells Max it’s time to go.

Roxy has it all set up for the poker game. Shirley busts her and bribes her way into 75 more quid. Downstairs Patrick tells Dot that Jim will be ok. Dot says that it’s hard to keep her spirits up when Jim can’t move. She convinces Jack to stay a bit longer with her.

Sean is walking the streets when his phone rings. It’s his mum.

Jack, Max, Pat and Roxy are waiting for Ronnie to come in. Ronnie comes in dressed to the nines and sets the rules for the game. Jack can’t take his eyes off of her. The game begins. The game gets high stakes right off the bat. ronnie and Jack have flirty banty.

Shab is at Carly’s and is filling her in with what happened. Carly asks her what she really wants to do. She tells her she doesn’t know. Carly tells her when she does it will all fall into place.

The card game is intense, and they take a break. Ronnie and Jack continue their banter. Pat asks Max about what’s going on between those two. Roxy calls Ronnie to the side and asks her what she’s doing as she’s lost more than she’s won. Pat calls them back to the table.

Sean listens to the voicemail from Jean. Boys are outside of the vic shooting off fireworks. Inside Roxy gives the bar a play by play of what’s happening upstairs. Jack wins a big hand. Ronnie and Roxy head to the kitchen. Ronnie tells her she knows Jack is cheating. Ronnie tells Roxy she’s got it under control. She comes back in pretending to be drunk. They raise the stakes. Max and Pat say that it is too rich for them.

Zainab asks Shabnam if she’s signed up. Shabs tells her she did.

The room fills up to watch Jack and Ronnie go at it. The cards are stacked, and Ronnie has a winning hand. Jack raises her a lot of cash and Roxy matches and calls. Mo runs down and tells them what’s going on. Patrick and Yolande run up, and Shirley has Carly look after the bar. Ronnie raises the stakes, and they are all watching in shock.

Shab tells Carly that she didn’t sign up for the course. Peggy comes in and wonders where everyone is. Peggy wonders where Shirley is, and Carly tells her she’s upstairs. Ronnie and Jack continue, and she goes all in. Peggy comes in and tries to grab the money. Jack has changed his hand from 4 3’s, and a J and Ronnie has 4 Kings which beat his hand.

Sean comes in and finds Jean still at Charlie’s. He is angry that she is still there. He tells her to get out. Sean is exceptionally cruel to her. Jean cries and wonders what happened to him.

Jack tells Ronnie they should play again. She tells him she is not sure. He leaves, and Peggy gives her a talking to. But in the end Peggy is pleased and so is Ronnie.

Outside the boys are messing about with their fireworks and knock down Jean. Sean comes running out and grabs one of the boys. He is going to hurt him, and Jean stops him. She cries out after him as he walks away.
