February 10, 2019 Episode 1 (UK Original Air Date October 16, 2007)

Ian comes bursting through the doors and embraces Lucy. He asks Pat what they’ve said. Pat tells him no one has said but a few have rushed past. Lucy asks him where Steven is. Someone walks past and Ian says someone should know something. The nurse comes out an brings the doctor with her. Ian asks if she is ok. The doctor says she came through the surgery ok. Ian is elated. The doctor tells him that there will be no hugging for some time. Ian is thankful but hears something in the doctors tone. Ian tells him “I thought you said she was ok?” The doctor replies that she is a strong woman and she will be out of recovery very soon. The doctor tells him that once she’s awake he will explain everything then. Ian is frustrated and asks the nurse why won’t the doctor tell him.

Roxy comes in the kitchen and asks Ronnie if she wants another coffee. Ronnie does not. Roxy asks her if she wants to go up the West End shopping and try on expensive dresses that they can’t afford later. Ronnie tells her that sounds like fun. Peggy comes in dressed to the nines and Roxy says looks like someone has already beat them to it. Roxy asks her who the lucky fellow is. Peggy says it’s a lady, she’s going to see Aunt Sal. She asks the girls to hold down the fort. Roxy tells her that she and Ronnie were going up to the West End later. Peggy sighs and says that is right. Ronnie quickly tells her that they can hold down the fort for her. Peggy is ever so grateful and heads off. Roxy is frustrated and lets Ronnie know it. Roxy tells Ronnie she didn’t ask us to help, she asked you.

The Masood’s are moving in and Denise is not happy. Denise is standing outside and Kevin comes out and asks Denise what’s happening. Denise says Zanib stood there and stared at her and then, she smiled at her. Kevin says “how dare she the nerve of her smiling at people.” Denise is unamused and is dead serious about her anger at Zanib smiling at her. Kevin reminds her that they will be living on the square together. Denise tells him not to blame her as she’s done nothing wrong. She is not the one smiling at people. Kevin is amused but he says nothing more.

Lucy asks Ian where Steven is. He tells her that he is safe and has been locked up. She asks if they are going to see him. She asks him about the gun. He says “like Steven, it’s gone.” Pat comes in and just then they roll Jane past them. Ian calls out to her telling her that he’s there.

Roxy and Ronnie are coming into the bar. Ronnie is leaving Roxy in charge for a bit. Roxy wants to know where she’s going. Ronnie won’t tell her.

Jane is coming out of the anesthesia and whispers I love you to Ian. The nurse goes to get the doctor.

Kevin is coming out and the mailman is walking up. Masood says “it’s a great day for the race.” Kevin asks him what race and Masood responds the human race. He thumbs through the mail and Kevin asks him for it. Masood will not give it to him because he can’t prove he lives there. Kevin is angered by it as he tells him he just saw him come out of the door. Kevin tells him “you see these keys? They open this door (he opens the door) to my house! Now give me my post!” Masood refuses to give it to him as he feels it proves nothing. Masood delivers the mail through the post and tells Kevin to have a lovely day. Masood looks down at the mail in his hand and it says “M Masood ” and he walks towards the door of Zanib’s house.

The doctor comes in to see Jane and Ian. Jane tells him it hurts and she feels like she’s been kicked. The doctor tells her she’ll have a bit of discomfort for a long while. He proceeds to tell her that they got the bullet out but it had damaged the bowel so they hope the bag is just a temporary measure. The bladder was not damaged but the catherter will be out shortly. He goes on to say to Jane that there was some bleeding that they could not stop in her pelvis and to save her life they had to remove her womb. Jane and Ian are devastated.

Roxy is glaring at the sweet little old man at the bar. On the other end Hazel is asking Minty what he thinks of the jobs she’s seeking out. He tells her she’s going to be his wife, she won’t have to work. Hazel tells him if 9-5 was good enough for Dolly then it’s good enough for her. Besides weddings cost money and this will help. Roxy walks down to them and says that the man has been starring at the pint for half an hour. Hazel tells Roxy that she likes old men. Roxy smiles at Minty and asks him if that explains it. Minty say OI! Minty tells her that he has to get back to work or both of them will be out of a job. Roxy quietly prays that this won’t be her future and promises to be a good girl.

Ian is speaking to the doctor and asks him if there is anything he can do or fix? The doctor tells him he’s sorry. He knows they’ll have lots of questions over the next few days. Ian comes back to Jane and asks if he can get her anything. Jane starts crying and says “You said we were going to have a baby. And now I can’t” They embrace.

The little old man is still staring at his pint. Roxy is having Hazel sample drinks for her. Hazel samples and says she’s meant to be looking for a job. Roxy says she has one as official taste tester. Roxy pours another and Hazel tells her if she serves these up she’ll have a bar of happy people.

Zanib and Denise are in the Minut Mart. Denise is going to grab for bread when Zanib grabs it instead. Denise makes a snide remark and Zanib tells her to take the bread. They argue that neither of them want the bread and a young man comes and takes it. Zanib and Denise are both highly irritated.

Jane is sleeping. Ian tells Pat he wants to say the right thing but he hears the words in his head and they sound stupid. He says she didn’t deserve this. Pat tells him he should go home for a bit, take Lucy home. He says he should be there. Pat reminds him that there are two young men at hers that would love to see him.

Denise is moaning about Zanib and the bread. She thinks she’s stalking her so she can have a go at her. Kevin asks if all this is because she is worried about Chelsea and Deano? She says no. He tells her she needs to let it go. He tells her about the postman and says he didn’t tell her because he let it go. He is so frustrated that he tells Denise when he gets back they are going to get this sorted once and for all.

Roxy comes running up to Hazel with a flyer. Hazel reads it and says how fun a sixties night will be. Roxy says it’ll be a top night all Beatles twist and shout and fun. She gives her money to go print the flyer and pass them out. Hazel is excited as she has a job at least for the day. Roxy is excited! She picks up a book and makes a call orders for the bar under Peggy’s name.

The bell rings at Denise’s and she answers to find Ian and Lucy. Ian runs to his boys and tells them he’s never going to leave them again.

Jane awakes and Pat asks her if she needs anything, Pat tells her she is so sorry. Jane cries that she’s never going to have a baby.

Ronnie comes back and Roxy tells her what she’s organized. Ronnie tells her it all sounds great. She makes her way upstairs and Roxy yells that she’d like a break. The phone rings and Ronnie yells for her to get it. It’s Auntie Sal asking for Peggy. Roxy tells her Peggy is not around. Roxy thinks Peggy is out with a fella.

Kevin is dragging Denise across the square to the Masoods. He tells her they are going to get this sorted once and for all at number 41 and it ends today. He has a gift to give as a welcome to the square. Denise is not having it. He tells her that she is just another person on the square and she has to rise above it. Denise finally gives in and says alright. She continues to whinge all the way to the gate. They ring the bell and the pesky postman greats them at the door.

Ian is watching over Bobby. Lucy comes down the stairs and Ian tells her that they will have to go to the police to give a statement. He says when they do they will have to lie. He tells Lucy that this is not some silly little game and he doesn’t want the boys dragged into it. She asks what about Steven. Ian looks at Lucy and she says “we aren’t going to see him again are we?” Ian tells her no. He says that the boys will only know that Jane has taken ill.

Denise and Kevin are sitting on the bench and she is smiling at him. She says “yep, rose right above that Kevin. Soared above it” and laughs.

Ian is trying to eat when he breaks down in tears. Peter tells him he should go home, shower and get a change of clothes.

Hazel brings the flyers into the salon and asks if she can leave a few there. Tanya lets her and Hazel has a sit down as she’s knackered. She says she’s not as done in as Ian Beale looked. Tanya asks her where she saw him, he’s back? Hazel tells her yes she’s just seen him in the square. Tanya asks her to stay there for 10 minutes and runs off. The phone rings and Hazel answers.

Peggy comes in as Roxy is signing for all the booze. Peggy gets upset and yells at Ronnie. She tells Ronnie she asked her to hold the fort not let Lola the showgirl run amuck. Roxy is fuming.

Tanya barges in and starts screaming at Ian asking him if he has any idea the hell he’s put Jane through. She has a right go at him and tells him she hopes he got what he deserved from Jane. She asks for her and he tells her that she’s in the hospital with a burst appendix. He tells her they are worried about periotinitis. Tanya reckons that is bad then. She says she’ll go to see her but Ian warns her off that she is not well enough for visitors. He says he’s on his way back now and will give Jane her love.

Hazel is welcoming clients in and makes a pat at one of the clients tight stomachs. Minty spies it and looks down at his own belly.

Ronnie is on the phone and finishes. Roxy is still stewing. Peggy comes in and Ronnie says Roxy’s going down to drum up business for her big night. They leave Peggy in the kitchen and she looks exhausted and upset.

Pat comes home and Lucy asks how Jane is. She tells her she is ok. Pat asks wehre Ian is. Lucy tells him he’s been home for a shower then he’s heading back to the hospital.

Ian arrives at the hospital and the nurse asks if it was him that shot her. Ian tells her no and that the person who did got away. She tells him he has no idea the damage he’s done. Ian says no, he doesn’t. He goes to Jane and kisses her forhead for Peter, and gives her a bunny kiss to her nose from Bobby. He tells Jane he thought he’s lost her.

Roxy is whinging about how all she wanted was to go shopping and instead got stuck with some old geezer, goes on about how Hazel said she loved his little tum-tum, and whinges on. Ronnie shows her some papers and it’s for Scarlett’s. Roxy is excited!

Jane begins to moan and thrash about and cries out Steven! Don’t let him near me. Ian tells her he can’t get her and he is never going to come near her again. He promises.
