Kevin follows Shirley out of the Crown Court and tells her that Dean was looking for her. The least she could have done is be there for him. Shirley tells him that it wasn’t her fault. Kevin says he’s heard it before, wouldn’t be the first time, would it? Vinnie tells him to steady up mate! Kevin yells at him asking him what it has to do with him? Vinnie says “she’s taken a bit of a tumble.” Shirley yells at him to shut up as Vinnie says he’s run her over. Kevin says he’s heard it all now. Vinnie asks Shirley if she’s ok. She tells him to get lost but as she does gets dizzy. He says he’s taking her to the hospital.
Dean pounds on the desk and yells at his solicitor through the glass that he can’t do this! His solicitor tells him to calm down. Dean screams he should not be going. The solicitor tells him if he behaves he should be out in 3 months. Dean can’t take it. He tells him he wants to see his Dad. Dean sees Chelsea and screams at her to tell them. Chelsea is taken to a holding cell and looks stone-faced.
Jane is on the phone and finds out the twins have bunked off school. Meanwhile, Steven is driving with the twins, listening to music. He tells a worried Peter to chill out.
Vinnie gets Shirley to the hospital, and he is doting on her, but she is not having it. When she checks in Vinnie gives a rundown of what happened. The nurse assumes he’s Mr. Carter. He corrects her. They try to get her seen sooner, but the nurse tells her to take a seat.
The Wicks arrive back on the square and get out of the car solemnly. Stacie yells that she hopes they locked them up and threw away the key. Pat ushers them inside. Carly says she never meant for this to happen or for it to end this way. Pat motions for her to come in as well but Carly says she has a shift to work. Pat says there is no need for Carly to rush off. Carly looks at her dad, and he agrees with a little melancholy tone that she doesn’t have to leave. Carly asks “what have I done Pat?”
Steven and the twins arrive at his special place. Lucy wonders what they are doing there. Steven tells her it’s a special place and he can’t wait for her to see it. Peter says he wants to go back to call Jane and go back to school. Lucy and Steven convince him to go with them.
Vinnie is working hard to get the nurse to get Shirley seen sooner. He tells her that she’s stubborn and isn’t being honest about how bad she feels. He turns on the charm and gets Shirley seen sooner. She hands him her phone and says to call her mate Heather. She tells him not to bother waiting. He says he’s not going anywhere unless he gets a smile. Shirley gives him an evil look.
Jane is calling the twins and gets no answer. She walks out and realizes her car is missing. Pat wonders what she is on about. Jane puts it together. Steven has taken her car and the twins. Pat defends him. Jane demands she give her Steven’s number.
Steven goes on about how wonderful the meadow is. He says he can feel his mum, and how much she loved him. Peter says Jane will be worried. Steven snaps at him and says “can’t you hear your mum? She’s always here with us.”
The guard comes to get Chelsea. She tries to help her and offers her assistance but Chelsea says she doesn’t need any cuddly routine.
Heather arrives at the hospital. She frantically explains she got a call from someone and goes on and on. The nurse asks what her name is and she says, Heather. The nurse says “no what is your mates’ name?” Vinnie introduces himself.
Steven asks the twins if their dad ever talked about their mum. Lucy says not really. Steven tells them now that their dad is gone they have to stick together. He tells her that she can’t tell Jane about this place. Lucy gets why Jane doesn’t need to know but wants to know why they need to lie. Steven tells her that Jane is upset she’s not their mom and she’s nothing more than a glorified babysitter.
Stacie and Sean come into the Vic discussing the court hearing. They are celebrating and ask Charlie if he’d like to join in. Charlie says that they’ll serve their time and there is no need to celebrate it. Sean and Stacie smirk
Dean and Chelsea are getting loaded up on the transport when Dean tells her that he’s scared. Another man overhears and asks him if his mummy didn’t get to kiss him goodbye. At home, Denise is a bit manic saying if she gets this job she could consider booking a holiday. Kevin and Libby don’t think it’s the time to think about a holiday. She tells Libby to go to school. Kevin tells her she should sit and he’ll make her a cup of coffee. She says the washing and ironing won’t take care of itself. She heads upstairs, and Libby is visibly upset. Kevin reassures Libby that her mum is ok.
Vinnie is entertaining the waiting room. Shirley comes out, and Heather wants to know if she’s broken her neck. Shirley says she has. Heather doesn’t pick up on her sarcasm. Vinnie wants to give them a lift home. Shirley tells him the bus would be safer. Heather realizes that Vinnie is the man who hit her. Shirley says “oye girl you’re firing on all cylinders aren’t you” Heather convinces Shirley to let Vinnie give them a lift.
Steven reassures Peter not to tell Jane about their secret place.
Vinne pulls up in a fancy car and Heather is impressed. Shirley gets in and lights up a cigarette. Vinnie gives her a look, and Shirley asks if there is a problem.
Chelsea and Dean are dropped at their jails.
Denise is ironing and a bit too happy. Kevin reminds her that his kid got locked up also. She burns her hand, and he tells her to put it under the tap. She is unphased. Kevin walks off.
Vinnie gets them home, and Heather invites him in. Shirley tries to go up the stairs and gets dizzy again. Vinnie rushes up to help her. She tells him to back off.
Jane is frantic about the kids, and Pat tries to calm her down. Steven and the twins come in. Jane is angry and asks them where they’ve been. Pat asks him what he’s playing at? Steven smirks and says is there a problem? Lucy says they went into town. Jane is fuming, and Steven uses it to his advantage. Pat tells him that he should have called. Jane demands he get out of the house. Pat tries to calm her down. Steven says that he didn’t think what with Ian missing. Jane tells him that she doesn’t want him anywhere near the twins. Steven says all he wants to do is be with his family. Pat tells Jane she has every right to be upset, but she is wrong for this. Lucy yells that she is not their mother. Steven asks Pat what was so wrong with what he did. He didn’t mean any harm. He tells Pat if Jane keeps this up she’ll regret it.
Chelsea meets her roommate. She’s chatty, and Chelsea doesn’t say anything. Chelsea tells her to cut all the bull she doesn’t need it.
Denise is in the kitchen crying as Kevin comes down the stairs. Pat and Steven come in. Kevin goes into the kitchen and closes the door. Denise says she told Chelsea it would be ok and it wasn’t. She knew she was going to jail and she didn’t tell her the truth. She didn’t help her by not facing reality. Denise says that when the judge said the sentence Chelsea looked at her, and all she could see was her little girl. She cries that she wants her baby back. In jail, Chelsea lays down and takes Fixer out of her pocket and silently weeps.
Vinnie is leaving, and Heather walks him out. He says to call him if Shirley needs anything at all. Upstairs Shirley is watching him leave as she holds his card. Heather comes up and wonders why she had to be so mean to him. Shirley takes her neck brace off, and Heather wonders what she’s doing. Shirley says where there is blame there is a claim.
Lucy and Steven meet in the square. She calls Jane a stupid cow for interfering. Steven reminds her that she is nothing more than a glorified babysitter. Lucy says “well I ain’t no baby. If I was you and she spoke to me like that I’d have smacked her in the mouth.” Lucy asks Steven if he meant it that it was just her, Peter and Steven. He says yes and to tell him what is wrong. She hands him Craig’s gun and says she needs him to get rid of it.
