Ian is staring at the card left on the coffin. He tosses it and reads a text from Cindy saying it was all his fault. Kevin takes his and Dean’s passports out of the box and stares at a photo of him and Denise. Out on the market Billy watches Jase. Phil packs up his bags to leave Shirley’s to go home. Ian says to someone on the phone that he doesn’t have time to come down to the station.

Dean and Kevin discuss being on the run. Dean suspects Kevin is having second thoughts. Kevin tells him he’s not and to leave it all to him.

Pat tells Billy she is not joining in his crusade against Jase. She tells him if he’s really dangerous he should watch out.

Jane wonders why Ian isn’t at the Cafe. He’s busy making a list of all the people he suspects are after him. Jane reads off the list of Mitchells. She teases him that he might want to add Ben and Janet to complete the list. He even suspects Winston because of how angry he got when he “accidentally” overcharged him in the cafe. Jane calms him down, and Ian tosses his list. Ian asks her to cover for him at the cafe. She agrees but tells him she must leave in the afternoon. She leaves, and he pulls the list out.

Ben is excited when his Gran confirms his Dad is back to stay. Peggy is worried.

Denise wonders if Kevin is prepared to meet the new brief. He doesn’t remember right off. She hopes the brief is as top notch as reported. Kevin bows out of going to the brief for an issue at the car lot. Denise must go alone.

Billy is insistent that Honey tell him what she was talking to Jase about. Honey is frustrated with him but tells him that she got Jase the job repairing the Minut Mart door. Billy marches off.

Peggy warns Phil that she meant what she said about his drinking. He tells her he is on the up and up. He asks about sorting the girls and taking a look at the books. Peggy tells him the takings are up and they did a great job of keeping it afloat while they were gone.

Jase tells Yolande he can make the repair no problem and will look at the stock room door for no extra charge. He sets off to get some tools, but Yolande stops him and says he can use Patrick’s.

Phil drops a bag of belongings at Roxy’s feet and tells her she’s moving. They have words, and Peggy comes upstairs. He tells Peggy to keep Ronnie and Roxy away from him. He goes downstairs and runs into Ben. Ben seems to calm him down.

Ian is reviewing something on the laptop and making notes of someone’s movements.

Billy comes in to warn Yolande not to let Jase work there.

Phil is in on helping Kevin go on the run with Dean. Phil gives him the name of someone who can help but tells him it’s going to take a lot of money. He wonders who will pay the rent on the car lot while he’s gone. Kevin says that Pat will hold down the fort, he is sure of it. Phil warns him it won’t be easy.

Pat walks into the cafe and asks Jane if Ian has gone into the undertaking business now. She tells Jane that the CCTV camera only sets off the coffin even more. She asks Pat to cover for her. She walks into the house and asks Ian what is going on. He tells her he’s not leaving until he finds out who is doing this. She tells him that’s fine, but she and the kids are getting on the plane on Thursday with or without him. Ian chases after her and then looks at the street and the people with suspicion.

Jase finishes the repair and Yolande is very cold to him. She pays him a tenner more, and he tries to give it back. She tells him it’s for his extra trouble. He asks if she wants him to look at the leaking water heater, but she quickly gets him out of the store.

Phil is reviewing the books for the arches and wonders if Minty and Garry turned it into a charity shop while he was gone. Minty tells him it was just discounted for regular customers. Phil tells them no more discounts or favors for a lower price. He orders them to clear out the backlog and work overtime to make up for it all.

Kevin is working with a customer at the car lot. He’s giving the guy a bargain price, but the guy walks off. Kevin yells a lower price at him to try one last time.

Ian yells at a customer at the counter. He sees Pat and Honey chatting and writes Pat’s name on his list. Also on his list is Dot!

Phil is in the kitchen when Peggy comes in ready to read him the riot act. He tells her he’s sorted the arches, Minty and Garry, and is getting the video shop open and running. He’s spoken to Ben and sorted everything. Peggy tells him not to let her down. Phil says he won’t.

In the cafe, Pat asks Ian if he’s alright. A delivery comes in, and he panics. It’s just the bacon he ordered, except he ordered 7 kilos and received 70 kilos. The delivery guy asks if that is his signature. Pat says it sure looks like it. He wonders out loud if she is in on it. He glares at everyone and tells them all they will think it’s funny when they have nowhere to eat. He kicks everyone out, tossing them all out. He slams the door and starts to cry.

Pat sees Denise and calls after her. Denise reviews that the new brief says they are facing at least two years in prison. She tells her that they need two thousand. Meanwhile, Kevin is on the phone trying to get money from someone who owes him. Both he and Denise stare at the sold sign on the home they wanted to buy.

Billy is filling Peggy in on why she shouldn’t use Jase for work in the pub. Peggy says she’ll put him off work there. Pat comes in and wonders if this is a private conversation or if anyone can join. They say that they were just discussing the fact that Jase is a dangerous criminal. Pat asks if Billy has been spreading the word about Jase. Peggy asks her if she knew already. Pat says she would rather give someone a chance than condemn them without knowing all the facts. She walks out, and Peggy says that is what you call honor amongst thieves.

Jane knocks on the door, and Ian yells “Go away we are closed” Jane yells out that it’s her. He opens the door. Jane comes in and asks him what’s going on as there is a line of customers. Ian falls into her arms and weeps for her to help him.

Phil comes in to find Ben and Roxy on the sofa. He wonders what they are doing. Roxy says she’s helping him with his homework. Phil says that if anyone is going to help Ben, it will be him. Roxy says that’s fine but Phil was busy, and anyway, they are done now. Roxy plays it up and hugs Ben tight. Phil tells her to keep her hands off him. He goes to move her arm off, and Ronnie jumps up. He tells them both no one is going to lay their hands on his son. Ben runs off and says that to stop arguing. He yells that he promised there will be no more arguing.

Ian is a mess, and Jane tries to help him. He tells her he’s feeling like he’s going mad. She thinks he needs to see someone. He needs more help than she can give him. He tells her that with her help they can get through anything. Jane tells him he should take the rest of the day off. He tells her they need that vacation. She sends him home, and he says he’s going to cook a special meal for them to make up for it all.

Peggy tells Jase now that Phil is back she doesn’t need his hand anymore around the pub. He tells her that he was counting on that money. She apologizes and offers a drink on the house. He says he’d love to, but he’s got to go find the little boy he’s got to put food on the table for.

Kevin takes the money he and Denise had saved for the house to use to escape with Dean. Dean says he just needs time to go say goodbye to his mum. Kevin yells at him that he can’t tell her, especially her. Denise comes in and wonders what’s going on. Kevin tells her that he’s just telling Dean that he needs to listen to what the solicitor says.

Ian spies Phil holding a bottle outside the arches and comments on how far he’s fallen. Ian goes on about he hopes someone is looking after Ben as he’d hate to have to call social on him. He asks Ian how Lucy is. Ian says she’s fine. Phil says that he wasn’t there for her when she needed him and maybe she might be more like her mother. Ian wonders why he’s going on about Cindy. Phil tells him maybe that is why the coffin was out in front of his house. Maybe Cindy is back, and she’s going to finish him off proper this time. It would save him from wringing the breath out of his scrawny neck. Phil hands him the bottle and says that Ian needs it more than him.

Denise and Kevin are talking about the new brief. She tells Kevin that she thinks they should use the money they saved for a family home. Because without a family there is no use for a family home. Kevin is feeling very guilty. He tells her that whatever happens he loves her and will always love her. She comforts him and tells him that they will all get through this together.

Ian pours himself a drink and looks at his phone.

Jase walks by Billy, Yolande, and a few market stall ladies. Billy tells him to keep on walking. Yolande tells Jase that Billy is right, there is nothing around there for him now they all know the truth.

Ian has finished half the bottle and picked up his phone and hits dial to call Cindy. He hears a phone ringing in the house. He grabs the bottle and heads upstairs.

Kevin is looking at the money. He puts it back in the envelope.

Ian finds the ringing coming from his bedroom. He opens the wardrobe and takes out a jacket. It’s Jane’s. The phone is in her pocket. He glances at her photo.
