Ian is looking at the photo of Cindy and Gina when Jane comes downstairs. She asks Ian if he thinks this is such a good idea. He tells her he’s just going to go round there and tell her he’s sussed her out and she needs to back off. He says if she doesn’t then he will report her, get the police involved but he’s not having his family terrorized this way anymore. Jane wonders if Gina had a thing for him. Ian interrupts and tells Jane that Gina made a pass at him once and he turned her down. Jane says so that explains why she’s all the sudden after all these years started sending messages to Lucy. If she’s had a thing about him for all these years why now? He tells Jane this situation has driven him nuts. She tells him to be careful.
Peggy comes into the kitchen and asks Ben what she said to him ten minutes ago. Ben tells her that his dad said he didn’t have to. Peggy tells him and Phil that he can’t afford to miss another day of school. Phil pipes up and says that he said he didn’t have to. Peggy has a bit of a go at Phil and tells him he should be going to school. Phil says he’s asked him and Ben said no he didn’t want to go to school. He tells her that what they are doing is better than being in school. Peggy says she’s astonished Ben said no. What 11 year old would rather stay home than go to school! She declares she is astonished. He says he’s learning a bit of history. She asks Phil what he knows about history. He tells her the second world war..we won it alright?! Ben corrects him and says that actually the Russians and the American’s won the war. Phil wants to know who’s teaching him that rubbish. Ben says Mr. Davidson, and he actually said that the British were the biggest losers of the war because before the war we had an empire but after we didn’t and ended up owing the yanks billions. Phil says if that is the sort of rubbish they are teaching it’s a good job he’s not going. Ben wants to know why it’s rubbish. Phil says it’ because the Brits won the war, end of.
Max and Jase are discussing how Lauren’s been bullying Jay. Max wants to know what she’s been doing. Jase tells him she’s been calling him Bobby Orange, but Jay doesn’t know what it means. Jase asks Max if he knows what it means. Max replies Bobby Orange… yeah it’s body odor. Max tells Jase he will have a word with Lauren, but in the meantime, Jase might want to teach him about hygiene. Jase asks him that there will be no more names. Max says he’ll talk to her as Jase walks off. Max calls Lauren outside and asks what that was all about. .Lauren tells her dad that Jay does stink after break and football. He tells her not to call Jay names he doesn’t know the meaning of, tosses her hair and they head off to school.
Phil and Ben are still at the table working on the plane. They discuss Phil’s Granddad and Ronnie comes in. She says she never met him. Phil says he must have died when he was eight or nine. Ben asks if he wasn’t a pilot what did he do? Ronnie sits down, and she and Phil reminisce about what he did. Grandpa Phil was quite the character who worked the stores during the war and ended up in the glasshouse. He was flogging the parachutes, selling the silk to the underwear factories and selling them back to the RAF. They have a good laugh about it, but Ben wants to know what the Glasshouse was. Phil tells him he was so good at his job that he got transferred to the gardening corps. Finally, Ronnie explains that it was like a sort of prison. Peggy comes in and asks for a word with Phil. She tells Phil outside the room. He walks out, and she tells him she’s just been in the living room clearing the bed linens when she found a bottle stuffed under the cushions. She asks him how many more bottles does he have hidden. He tells her he’s been cutting back. She tells him to hand it over. He asks “hand what over?” She grabs a bottle out of his jacket and Ben opens the door to see a bottle in his Gran’s hands. She tells Phil she’s so disappointed. Phil goes back to the kitchen and Ronnie excuses herself. Ben asks if they can put the fuselage together. Phil is starring out the window. Ben asks him why he’s drinking. Phil says it is the same reason blokes join the foreign legion. To forget.
Kevin goes to speak with Mrs. Massood. He tells her he understands Denise can have a temper, but he can convince her to apologize. She is confused and says that if someone has to be convinced to apologize, then it’s not really sincere. He goes on about how they have had all this trouble lately. He wants to know why she sacked Denise. She tells him that Denise wasn’t sacked. Denise quit.
Peggy is continuing to go at Phil telling him this is what she was afraid of. He tells her that he was doing ok until she stuck her nose in it. Phil grabs a bottle from the bar. Peggy tries to get it from him, and she tells him he’s not too big yet. He pulls away and tells her he thinks otherwise.
Jase brings body wash and deodorant to Jay
Ben comes in and hears Phil say “go away mum I don’t need a lecture now.” Ben has the plane and tells him he can’t get the fuselage in. Ben asks him if this is because of Stella. Phil tells him that there is a new rule in the house. No more mention of Stella’s name. He tells Ben to go to school. Ben tells him he doesn’t want to. Phil yells at him and asks him if he knows what his old man would have done to him if he talked back? Phil grabs the plan and realizes it’s on wrong. He smashes it. He tells Ben he’s cocked it all up now. He threatens to whip him the same as his old man would have done him. Peggy walks in and says he’ll have to whip her first. She sends Ben to his room. She tells Phil that she will tell him about this when he is sober, and she hopes he weeps. He says he will never hurt Ben. She tells him to get out and not to come back until he’s in a fit state. She tells him that he disgusts her. He grabs his bottles and goes.
Ian pulls up to a house in the country. He hears music playing inside. He rings the bell, but no one comes. He notices the door is open and pushes it. He calls out hello as he walks on through. He notices a photo of Cindy on the wall. He answers the phone, and it’s Jane. They are on the phone, and he hears “put your hands up now” Jane is nervous and keeps trying to ring Ian. Ian is in the house, and Gina tells him to turn around and realizes it’s Ian. She says it’s about time he came round. Ian tries to get her to put the gun down. She pulls the trigger, but it is empty. He jumps. She asks if he was scared. He tells her he’s been scared for a few days. She tells him that just because one barrel was empty doesn’t mean the other one was. He begs her to let him call his wife. Gina asks him which one? He says, Jane. She says “ahh yes, Jane. A dull name for a dull woman married to a dull little man who makes her thinks he’s more than he is and amounts to something. And to think I used to be in love with him.” Ian asks her if they can sit down and have that chat. He’ll call Jane first.
Kevin comes into the cafe and finds Denise. He confronts her with her lie regarding the firing. He tells her he thought they said no more lies. He tells her since he’s the only one working he better get back to work.
Deano is home alone and hears something. He calls out and walks into the kitchen to find Sean. Sean greets him and says that Carly was kind enough to leave him her key before she left.
Ian is on the phone with Jane describing Gina is barking mad. Gina calls out asking if Ian still likes his tea with two sugars. He answers that he does and hangs up with Jane. Gina brings a tray to the table and says that Cindy talks to him each day. Ian asks if it was Cindy who has been sending Lucy all these messages. Gina is confused. Ian explains it’s her that has been sending Lucy all the messages on the computer and that wrote on the mirror. Gina tells him she doesn’t even have a computer.
Sean wonders where Chelsea is. Deano tells Sean that she could be back soon. As a matter of fact, any of them could be back. Sean says he is getting the feeling that Deano is scared. Deano apologizes and says it was all Chelsea’s idea. He tells him it started off as a joke. Sean is not amused. He goes on to describe how prison will be for Deano. He tells him to watch out for Michael Duffy. He’s crazy and in for murdering three people. He is telling Deano about how he once shook a mans hand and grabs Deano’s hand causing him extreme pain. He says he’s just helping prepare Deano for prison. He asks when he’s due in court. Dean answers and Sean dumps his coffee on the floor saying he thought coffee in prison was bad.
Over at the Vic Peggy is taking stock of the bar and notices another bottle gone. She asks Shirley if she took one out. Shirley tells her no. She assumes Phil took it. Minty tells her that he’s over at the arches and kicked him out earlier wanting the place all to himself. Ronnie comes down and says Peggy is needed upstairs. She tries to wait, but Ronnie tells her it’s Ben.
Denise and Kevin discuss her lie, and she apologizes. He tells her that he’s sticking by her as she stuck by him. Jane grabs an envelope off the counter as it has Ian’s name on it. She opens it and has a strange look on her face.
Ian and Gina are chatting. She tells him that Cindy wants peace between him and her, the Wicks brothers. Ian says maybe when she was alive. Gina looks up at her photo and says she was so jealous of her when she was here. She said she wanted everything Cindy had. She tells him that Cindy has forgiven him, her, all of them. Ian wants to know if she’s forgiven him then why is she sending messages, sending pig hearts, wearing her perfume, writing on the mirror and taking it off. She says maybe he needs the doctor. She says before he goes there is someone he needs to meet. She calls out for Cindy. He is worried. In comes, a little girl and Gina introduce her as Cindy’s daughter. Jane calls and tells Ian he needs to get back now. He tells Gina he has to pass on lunch, but she really should consider seeing a doctor to get help.
Jay comes in, and he’s upset. Jase hopes his day has gone better. He tells him no it hadn’t. She’s teased him about him not knowing what Bobby Orange meant, about how they mustn’t have a bath and more. Jase heads out, and Jay calls after him to stop.
Peggy is pounding on the arched doors. Phil opens the door. He’s three sheets to the wind. She tells him he’s coming with her as she wants him to see exactly what he’s done.
Shirley pounds on Dean’s door, and Chelsea lets her in. She brings her back to a distraught Dean. He tells her he can’t face it. She asks him what? He says standing up in court on Monday, prison, all of it. He asks her to help him.
Jase walks up to Max and Minty having a pint outside. Jase tells him he will take it personal next time Lauren picks on his son. Max asks if he’s being threatened. Jase tells him he is.
Peggy brings Phil into the kitchen and Ben’s head is in the sink. Ronnie says he’s just been sick and thinks he will be ok now. Phil asks what he done. Peggy holds up a large bottle of vodka and says “THIS! THIS IS WHAT HE’S DONE!” Phil asks him why he did it. Ben says because he said it makes you forget and he wants to just forget. Peggy shoves a crying Phil out the door and slams it. Phil says if he thought for a second… Peggy tells him that’s just it you don’t think! I’m not going to put him through any more of this, and she means it! Phil goes off to pack.
Ian comes in, and Lucy and Jane are in the dining room. Lucy smirks and packs up her books. She glares at Jane. He starts to open the computer, but Jane demands he open the envelop and look. It’s a photo of Cindy holding up the Walford Gazette with the Trueman case headline.
