Peggy comes into the kitchen. Ronnie jumps up to get her coffee. Peggy asks if they shouldn’t be doing something more important. Ronnie wonders what that might be. Peggy tells them to start packing as she wants them out tonight. Ronnie gives Roxy a harsh glance.
Lucy’s blog solicits a comment telling her she should run away. She’s on the phone with Craig arranging to run away. She asks him how much money he thinks they’ll need. She’s cross with him as he tells her to get it from her dad. She says he’s not a cashpoint. She agrees to gather the money anyway. She opens her piggy bank, and it’s not much. Peter barges in asking her if she’s not ready. He suggests she invest it and she smirks at him.
Roxy is angrily walking through the kitchen gathering laundry to pack. Ben is getting ready for school and Peggy is assisting him. Ben asks why they are leaving. Peggy says it was only meant to be a fly in visit. Ben thinks it’s rather fun having them there, especially with his dad gone. Peggy says he’ll be back soon. Ben tells her she said that last week. Roxy and Ronnie carry their bags downstairs. Roxy wants to know why they are giving in so easy. Ronnie asks who says they are? Ronnie says “she says she wants them gone but come lunchtime she’ll be begging for them to come back. Besides who’s going to run the place with her?” Just then Shirley walks through taunting them. Ronnie thinks Auntie Peg must have a screw loose asking her back. Shirley says it takes more than a push-up bra and a fake spray tan to make a good bar manager. Ronnie says she’ll see about that.
Carly wonders why the police haven’t come yet. Kevin thinks they must have more important things to do, or maybe they want to speak to Sean first. She says it only makes it worse for Sean. He asks Carly to think what it’s like for Dean. Carly says he wouldn’t be in there in the first place if they hadn’t lied. Dean walks in and asks his Dad if the police are on their way. He just wants to know. He begs his Dad to tell him. Kevin tells him that he hasn’t told them yet. But just because he hasn’t yet doesn’t mean he isn’t going to. Dean looks shocked. Carly comes down the stairs as Kevin is putting on his jacket. She says she will go with him. He says he isn’t going to the car lot just yet. He’s going to a car auction. She says he didn’t mention it.
Jane is on the phone. As she’s hanging up Ian walks up. She tells him it was the school. It’s Lucy. Ian looks worried.
Honey is hurrying around the kitchen. She’s sure she’s forgotten something. The cake… She hasn’t picked up the cake! Billy reminds her that Peggy is getting it. Honey says she just wants everything to be perfect. Billy assures her it will be. Billy tells her that he will give her present to her when he gets back. She tells him he doesn’t need to give her one. Janet was the best present he could have ever given her. Billy heads off, and Peggy comes in. She asks Honey if she can leave her to it as she has a million and one things to attend to. Peggy directs her to do the things that need doing in the kitchen. The phone rings and Peggy anxiously answers. It’s Honey’s dad. Honey takes the phone and then looks disappointed.
Ronnie and Roxy are plotting as they walk across the square. Dean tells Chelsea he just wishes his dad would make his mind up. Carly walks up and starts to say something to Chelsea but decides she isn’t worth it. Billy is busy inviting half the square to Janet’s party. Ronnie tells Garry, Minty, and Billy that they should come to the Vic earlier, say around lunchtime.
Jane brings Lucy to the cafe. Jane explains that Lucy broke into a girls locker and stole her money and phone. Ian wants to know why she needs the money. Jane is fuming and says the bigger issue is why she is stealing in the first place. She wants to know why she’s acting like some ASBO teen because it certainly isn’t from them. Preeti interrupts them. Jane tells Ian she will stay and take care of the cafe and he should take Lucy home and get to the bottom of this.
Gus and Mickey are arguing about whose girl is fitter and poetry. Mickey reads one of Gus’s poems. Mickey says he doesn’t need to know his girls’ name. He’ll turn on the Mickey Miller charm, and she won’t care. Preeti asks what if he has to introduce her to someone. Gus smirks and says yeah! Mickey is irritated with Preeti. She sulks
Dot asks Bradley if he’s been on the computer all morning. He says yes he’s been working from home. She asks him about it, and he explains that he can communicate via instant messaging.
Shirley is overwhelmed as the Vic is packed. Seems Roxy and Ronnie told people it was two for one at lunchtime. They come in as Garry is going on about how it’s true since they are in charge. Shirley corrects him. She tells the girls she has them to blame for this. They tell Shirley Auntie Peggy won’t be too happy. Shirley says she can manage. It won’t be the first time she has had to satisfy a few demanding men. Ronnie says “Well it’s one thing you are Shirley, is a pro!” The punters are demanding to be served as Peggy walks in. Shirley tells her they promised a free drink to everyone. Ronnie explains it was a trade up day and if they were behind the bar, they’d all be served quickly. Peggy asks them if they don’t have more important things to be doing, like living arrangements. Peggy tells the bar there are no free drinks. Roxy whinges about Ibiza and Ronnie heads off to the travel agent.
Upstairs the smoke alarm is going off. Peggy finds her kitchen in smoke and the sausage rolls burnt. Peggy makes everything ok and sends Honey home and makes her feel better. Peggy asks her if anyone else phoned while she was gone. No one did.
Ian brings Lucy a sandwich and walks away to come back and asks her why she did it. Lucy tells him that she doesn’t know. Doesn’t he ever do stupid things? He apologizes for last night and promises it will never happen again.
Dot sneaks into the sitting room and unveils a book “computers for seniors.”
Ronnie and Roxy come in to say goodbye. Peggy asks where they are off to. Ronnie tells her Tenerife. She wonders why so far away. Ronnie explains it’s great business potential. Roxy sadly says her goodbyes and Ronnie says they better be off and they are sorry about downstairs. Roxy hugs Peggy tightly. Peggy looks like she’s second-guessing. The girls head downstairs and walk through the bar. Shirley tells them not to forget to send them a postcard. Roxy says she’d like to thank Shirley. Because of Shirley, she’ll never forget to put on sunblock since she’s seen what the effects of not putting it on look like. Charlie comes up to help them out and take them to the airport. Shirley laughs.
Carly comes in behind Kevin into the car lot office. She says the police haven’t shown up, Dean is shifty, he hasn’t done it has he? Kevin tells her he burned the tape. He says that “we just thought…” and Carly asks who this we is? Kevin says there is no we, he just misspoke.
Charlie and the girls come out to discover a tire missing. They “call” another cab company but it’s going to be hours. Ronnie remembers that Peggy has a few numbers by the phone in the Vic. Upstairs in the family area, Peggy takes a tumble and falls off the ladder. Ronnie heads in, and Shirley tries to stop her from going through. Carly walks in and yells at Shirley. Carly tells her anytime there is trouble in their family there is Shirley stirring her cauldron. Shirley turns the music up and leans in to tell Carly that she and Kevin burned the tape and it was for Dean’s best interest to get over it. There is nothing she can do about it. Kevin comes in, and Carly pushes past. He demands Shirley tell him what she said. On the other side of the door, Ronnie is calling a cab company when she hears Peggy yelling for Shirley. She hangs up and heads upstairs.
Carly confronts Dean. Dean tells her he’s scared. She says “well yeah so is Sean!” and walks away.
Peggy on the sofa listening to Ben’s message. Ben is waiting at the school and wonders if she’s on her way. Ronnie walks in and sees Peggy limping. She tells her she should get on the sofa. Peggy says she has too much to do. Ronnie tells her that they could help if she hadn’t kicked them out. Peggy says she can manage on her own. Ronnie calls Peggy a proper little martyr. Peggy asks her what she said. Ronnie tells her that if she won’t let them help, then the least she can do is call Phil. He is her son, he should be helping. Ronnie wonders why it is so difficult to pick up the phone and ask him to come home. Peggy yells at her that it’s because she doesn’t have a clue where he is! Ronnie goes to her. Peggy explains that the whole time he was away, he was not himself. On the morning they were leaving he just took off. Not a word or anything. He just disappeared, and no one knows where to find him.
Lucy’s phone buzzes with a message from Craig. He asks her if she’s got it. She sees a bag and goes to get something out. Jane comes in and offers her a peace offering. She praises Lucy for the hard work. Jane says she has to pop out to get something for dinner. She offers to have Lucy come with her. Lucy says she needs to finish her work.
Ronnie arranges for Honey to pick up Ben. Ronnie asks if there is anyone that can look for Phil. The girls offer to help. Peggy says no that is ok. Peggy worries that Ben will start to figure it out. Roxy tells her to stall him. He will believe her as she is Peggy Mitchell after all. They make their way to leave, and Peggy offers for them to stay. Just for a few days and see how it goes. Ronnie says no. They can’t keep packing up every few days. Peggy says that is her offer.
Downstairs Preeti is leaving something for Peggy. Gus walks in, and his girl is identical to Mickey’s.
Lucy is searching around in Jane and Ian’s bedroom. She finds cash and Jane walks in. Jane tells her that she really is the most spoiled,, selfish brat. Lucy says she needed it to run away as Ian hit her last night.
Dot was on the computer when she does something, and the computer is repeating everything she says.
Jane goes to Ian, and he says he didn’t do it. He tells her he came that close, but he stopped. Jane tells him she’s just a kid. He looks at Jane and asks who’s with her now.
Peggy comes down to tell Shirley she will need to handle it on her own tonight. She asks Peggy what time to show up in the morning. Peggy tells her to take the morning off as the girls are staying. Ronnie asks her if Shirley will need help packing up?
Preeti drags Mickey in and shows him the duplicitous girl. Mickey is mad and wants to know what is going on. Gus is confused, and so is his date. Preeti tells her that they are on to her now. Mickey tears up Gus’s poems. Just then an identical girl walks in, and Mickey realizes the mistake. Preeti is left embarrassed.
Upstairs the party is a hit for Janet. Garry is bored. Misty wonders what’s wrong with him. He says clowns creep him out. Hazel makes out it would be great to have a baby. Garry asks “what at your age?” Minty brings the presents in. Garry motions for Roxy to come over by him. Roxy gives him back the tool she used to get off Charlie’s missing wheel. Ronnie calls her out on it and thanks her.
Carly is waiting for Kevin. She gets out of a car and hugs Kevin. She tells him that she couldn’t go through with it. He says for the same reason he couldn’t. Dean is reading the riot act to Chelsea. He tells her that he isn’t going to listen to her anymore. Dean is walking away, and Lucy stands in front of him. She demands 500 quid from him, or she’s going to tell everyone what he and Chelsea did.
Peggy, Ronnie, Roxy, Ben, and Abi are getting the cake ready to bring in. Peggy tells the girls they can stay as long as they like. They bring the cake in, and everyone sings Happy Birthday to Janet. They go to blow out the candles and everyone cheers. A drunk Phil comes in and falls into the cake.
