Ian and Craig are hanging a banner for the party later. Jane walks out and asks him what it is. Ian says he made it on Lucy’s computer and it’s a banner. She says “yeah I know but what’s a “praty”?” She chuckles and walks back inside. Ian asks Craig if he should take it down. Craig just looks at him and says he doesn’t know. Ian goes on about leaving it up as nobody will notice. He says it is amazing at what people miss right under their noses. Craig smirks.
The doctor examines Patrick and tells him that he is healing nicely. He asks Patrick if he has any headaches or dizziness. Patrick says not that he’s noticed. The doctor tells Patrick that he can go home. Patrick looks afraid.
On the swings, Carly opens a sack and pulls out Sean’s shirt. It only has blood on the bottom of his shirt. She balls it back up and puts it back in the sack.
Charlie lets Stacey know he’s off to pick up Yolande and Patrick as they are releasing him. They bicker about Sean and whether he is guilty or not. Stacey tells Charlie that he is wrong. Charlie tells her to let Mo know he will pick up fish and chips on the way home. Stacey repeats that Sean didn’t do it and he’s not like it. Charlie tells her all the things Sean does wrong. Stacey tells him she knows what he’s like but this is not him. If he were going to do anything he’d have done it when they had their big argument. Charlie tells her to face it because one day she will have to accept who Sean is and that he is where he belongs.
Tanya and Abi are discussing her staying with Dot while her and Max go to the party. Max bows out and Tanya goes on her own.
Ian brings in boxes, and Jane tells him it feels weird having a party with everything that has happened. Ian tells her it’s exactly what the community needs. A sense of community and lightness. Jane looks at him sideways. He takes the box of balloons in and hands them to Lucy and tells her to blow them up. She grumbles. He compliments Craig on his building skills. Jane tells Lucy she can at least pretend to enjoy it for her dad. Craig asks Lucy to go out later. She assumes they will go out drinking like the last time. Craig says they’ll have a bit of excitement. He has a sinister smile.
Carly bangs on Stacey’s door and tells her she needs to see Sean. Stacey starts to tell her how to call, but Carly interrupts her. Carly asks Stacey when she is going. She tells Carly she has to go check on her mum. Carly asks if she can just call her. Stacey tells her no she needs to see her and it’s easier in person. Stacey assumes that Carly is just like the rest of them and is doubting Sean’s innocence. She tells Stacey she just needs to speak with him.
Yolande is preparing all of Patrick’s things to bring him home. She tells him she understands his concern. She tells him that they wouldn’t send him home if he weren’t alright. He wonders what if they missed something, or if something happens. She tells him she will take care of him if something happens. He says no. She gets a little short with him and he bristles. She tells him she understands.
Bradley shows up to take Stacey to the party, but she tells him she’s not in the mood. Across the way, Ian and Craig are still preparing the outside of the house. Ian notices condoms have fallen on the ground and picks them up. He is impressed with Craig and tells him he was young once too. Jane calls him in as the guest are starting to arrive. Craig motions for Ian to give them back. Ian looks at him and says “respect” not knowing the true intent of the package.
Ronnie has counted up all the takings and Roxy walks in. Ronnie wonders what they are going to do with it. Roxy says facials! Ronnie says she meant to bank it. It goes in the safe until the morning. Roxy flips through the cash.
Patrick is looking at his wound when Charlie walks in. Yolande says it will be nice to get home. She didn’t realize they had so many friends. Patrick is still hesitant. Yolande cuts his hospital id off. Charlie tells him to cheer up you act like you don’t want to go home.
The party is filled with the usual suspects. Dot and Mo are discussing the sandwiches and Mo thinks it’s more like a salad on bread. Lucy asks Lauren to cover for her just the same as last night. Lauren doesn’t want to. Dot says it makes you wonder if anyone is safe. Dot makes a snide remark about Sean and his behavior. She says they get it from home. Mo overhears and has a go at Dot. She reminds Dot that her Nick wasn’t an angel.
Tanya and Jane are chatting at the party. She notices Abi feeding Bobby the bread and keeping the salad. Abi says it’s for the Marges. Lucy and Laurent argue about her covering for Lucy. Jane and Tanya walk over, and Jane says they look thick as thieves.
Ronnie walks upstairs and sees the money missing. She screams for Rox and wonders where the money is. Roxy tells her in the kitchen. Ronnie finds her in the sitting room and sees that Roxy has locked it up. Roxy tells her she’s not a complete idiot.
Patrick is tense as they get closer. Patrick sees Ian’s party. He wonders why Yolande hasn’t told him. Patrick demands Charlie stop the car. He gets out and tells Yolande he just needs a minute. He stands under the Minute Mart sign. Lucy and Craig argue about her smoothing out her cover.
Patrick walks past the pub and sees Stacey. He is nervous, and Stacey tells him “whatever you think, it wasn’t like that.” Patrick doesn’t speak and hurries past her. Max is sitting inside and decides to go out.
Ian finds Lucy in the kitchen. She tells him she’s looking for pain medicine as she has period pains. Ian tells her to go upstairs and rest, it’s ok. She hurries out into the party to motion to Craig she’s got it covered. Craig walks up to Lauren and tells her thanks for nothing. She tells him if he wants to go drink and get puking she is not participating in it and helping her friend do it. He says “is that what you think we’re going to do?” She says “isn’t it?” Craig tells her that they are going back to his place. She wonders what will happen if Jane and Ian find out. He says they won’t will they as he’s only told her and if they find out then he’d know how.
Carly sits waiting for Sean as other visitors cry while they visit their loved ones.
Lauren barges into Lucy’s room. Lucy is getting ready to head out with Craig. Lauren asks if she knows what he’s got planned. Lucy tells her yes, it was her idea actually. Lauren is shocked. Lucy says she really likes him.
Stacey is leaving the pub when Max walks in. She says that she thought he was going to the party. He tells her he didn’t much feel like it. She says she got bored at home. She motions to leave. He says “well now that you’re here” She reminds him that they agreed.
Sean walks in to see Carly sitting there. He asks her where Stacey is. She says she doesn’t know. He wonders if she’s coming to see him. She tells him she doesn’t know. He says she must not believe him. Carly lets him know Stacey is about the only one who does believe him. He makes a turn to go and tells her to let Stacey know he’ll be waiting. Carly stops him and asks him why he lied. He says he didn’t. She tells him that he lied to her and then he ran. He tells her only after she told the police where to find him. They bicker back and forth about whether he lied and what she did. She leans in and tells him that she found his shirt.
At the party, Craig and Lucy are sneaking out. He is watching to make sure Ian doesn’t catch them. Lauren comes in and sees them. Lucy motions a keep silent look and Craig looks at her with an evil look.
Across the way, Ronnie is determined to deposit the money now instead of tomorrow. She is too nervous to keep it there. Roxy argues with her. Max and Stacey chat and she finishes her drink. She goes to leave and tells him that it was one drink. He asks Stacey what’s wrong.
Carly asks Sean why he didn’t say any of this before. He says that he panicked. She wonders if he thought he could get away with it. He says no that it would make things worse. He says “that is just great just lock me up and throw away the key.” She wonders what she was supposed to do. He smirks and says wash it? She says it was evidence! He tells her “Fifteen years. Fifteen years is what I’m looking at. Look at me! The golden boy. Mum was so proud. But it was all a lie, wasn’t it? But I kept screwing up. I could hide it for a while, but I kept screwing up, so I just ran. Left Stacey to pick up the pieces. Yeah, that is something to be proud of innit. Screwed up when I was in the Army and screwed up when I was out of it. I had Stacey. That is what I kept telling myself. I had a family. I’ve been here three days now, and I can’t get her to come to see me. I messed that up now too. I’m good at screwing things up. It’s the only thing I ‘m good at. I’m an expert. I could give lessons. You want to learn how to smash and destroy anything that has ever meant anything to you. Just ask me because I’ve had a lot of practice because.” Carly starts to interrupt him. Sean continues “I’ve done a lot of stupid things in my life. I’ve hurt a lot of people. But I will not spend fifteen years of my life for something I didn’t do. Believe me or don’t believe me it’s up to you.” Sean gets up and walks away as Carly tries to grab on to his hands.
Yolande tells Patrick that the doctor said it will take time. That he will be under the weather. She tells him that she understands how he is feeling. She says that the doctor said his emotions will be all over the place. Patrick says “oh so I’m emotional now am I?” She tells him “you know what I mean. Look, sweetheart, you are home now. Let’s make the best of this. Get back into that shop, get new product and new customers.” Patrick tells her she is wasting her time. He tells her to sell it. He’s not ever stepping foot in there again. Yolande is shocked.
Stacey admits she lied to Carly about going to see her mum. She says she never thought she would have to fight to keep Sean out of an institution after fighting for so long to keep her mum out of one. Max tells her he knows she’s scared and dealing with some guilt. He tells her that she should go down and see him and tell him that she is in his corner. She thanks Max for listening.
Patrick tells Yolande that when they drove down the street, and he saw where it happened he felt a fist. Yolande tells him it’s ok to be frightened. He says no that is why he got out where he did so he could confront it. Face it. But he realized what the point is? He’s 67, and he’s tired of worrying about the stock and what might happen if someone comes up behind him. He says it might have been the most important thing that has happened to him in a long time. He tells her that they are going home, they are going back to Trinidad.
Ian sends Jane up to check on Lucy. Lauren walks up to Tanya and says “Mom if someone made you promise to do something but you didn’t feel like it was right would you do it? Even if it meant losing a friend if you did?” Ian starts his speech and is honored to have everyone there. He’s sad Peter is away but happy that Lucy is. Jane says she’s not there. Ian is confused. He looks at Lauren and asks her if she knows. She says that she promised she wouldn’t say. He demands to know where she is. Lauren tells him that she’s gone back to Craigs. Ian is confused. Lauren says that Lucy didn’t stay at theirs the night before either and she was with Craig. Ian calls him a lying little and says he’ll kill him as he races out of the house.
