Carly and Stacey are discussing what happens now that Sean has run. Carly wants to know how long he’ll be on the run. Stacey tells her until they find out who really did this. Just then the DC Carson approaches and tells them both she wants to talk with them. She instructs Stacey not to leave the square and to gather a list of names of Sean’s friends. She tells Carly to come with her. She wants to hear everything Sean said to her.
Sea is hiding from the cops as they are searching for him at the tube station. He gets a call from Stacey. She wants to know where he is and he tells her nothing. Just as DC Dunn is speaking to Mrs. Masood, he sees Sean. DC Dunn walks out, and Sean runs.
DC Carson is putting pressure on Carly. She reckons that she stalled them so that Sean could get away. Carly tells her that it wasn’t like that. DC Dunn calls on Carson via the radio.
The doctor comes out of theater to update Yolande. They need to go in and remove the clot from the brain. Yolande wants to know if Patrick will be alright. The doctor tells her he can’t make any promises and he’ll come back to see her after the operation. Yolande cries out to the doctor “Can I see him… before?” The doctor tells her of course. Yolande walks in as they are preparing to take Patrick to surgery. She whispers in his ear that she loves him. They roll Patrick out and off to surgery.
Back on the square, Gus asks what this is on about. She tells him that is a police officer and keeps moving. Max sees that DC Carson is heading into the Slaters.
DC Carson is questioning Mo and Stacey. Mo is a bit smart with the detective. Stacey asks her how many times she has to tell her that this has nothing to do with Sean. DC Carson tells Stacey that as soon as they can question him the better it will be for him. She tells Stacey that she would really be doing him a favor if she helped them find him. If he is indeed innocent, then he has nothing to worry about. She promises Stacey.
Dot is on the phone with Charlie. He asks her if she’s heard the news.
Max and Tanya are discussing Rainie. Tanya says you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. Max tells her to forget about Rainie and try to go out and have a good time on their anniversary. She tells him she’s not talking about Rainie. She goes to hug Max as he picks up a bottle of whiskey and asks if she’s had a nip of it. She tells him no.
Dot is heading out and sees all the commotion on the square. Gus tells her that by deduction he’s determined it must have been Sean Slater. She doesn’t want to believe it. Gus tells her they are searching for him all over the square.
Tanya sets the bottle of whiskey down sharply and demands to know who has been drinking it. Tanya quickly realizes it was Lauren and sends them both to their room. Abi wants to know why she has to go. Tanya tells Lauren she will deal with her in a moment. Max tells her she needs to calm down. “They’re just kids,” he tells her. She yells at him that it is precisely how it starts. It’s precisely what she watched her sister do, and she’s not having it! Abi comes busting in the room. She tells them that Lauren is gone.
Mrs. Masood is driving along with Kevin test driving a car. They see the cops. She fills Kevin in with what has happened to Patrick. He jumps out of the car.
Max is in the cafe talking to Lucy about Lauren. She tells him she hasn’t seen her and he asks her to tell her to come home if she does. Jane walks in and tells them both that the faster they find Lauren, the better. Seems there is a fugitive on the loose. She tells Lucy she needs to go next door to be with Peter.
The cops are questioning Dot about who works at the laundrette with her. She tells them it’s just her and Honey Mitchell. She tells them that someone is in the office. They ask Dot to wait outside. They both go in and find Jay sitting there reading a magazine. He tells them one of the machines is messed up. DC Carson asks him who he is. He pips back with “And who exactly are you?” She pulls out her badge, and he tells her it’s a bit over the top as he’s only had biscuits and a drink.
Max is still out looking for Lauren. He asks Stacey if she’s seen her. She tells him that she has more important things to do than look after the Brannings. They argue about Sean and how the lot on the square has already convicted him.
Sean is on the watch when Kevin walks up behind him. He startles Sean. Kevin asks him if it’s true about Patrick. He tells him the cops should be out catching the person who did it. Sean’s phone rings as Kevin walks off. He denies the call. It’s Carly. She leaves him a message explaining that the cops just want to ask him some questions. Chelsea and Dean come in as she’s hanging up. She tells them it’s all lies, all vicious lies. They both look guilty. Carly walks out of the house.
The cops deliver Jay back to Jase and remind him to keep an eye out on him at this particular moment. Ian walks in the cafe and asks Jane if she can hold down the fort. He tells Jane that he wants to get back to the chippy to help Craig. There are loads of punters out there, and they are going to be hungry. Jane can’t believe that is all he can think about. She says that Patrick probably won’t want to go back into the shop for a long time. Ian says that it’s just not for old people as they can’t handle what the public tosses at them. He wonders if it might be time for them to let go of the shop for new ownership to take over. Jane asks him who? He says “well it’s only across the road!” She can’t believe him. She says everyone else is “poor man lying in the hospital” and he’s seeing a business opportunity. She walks away, and he smirks.
Yolande is feeling very guilty about all the things she said about Patrick. Denise tells her not to think about that now. She reminds her that she changed her mind about all that. She remembers the last things she said to Patrick. Denise says she’ll go and call Kevin and see if there is any news. Charlie tries to cheer Yolande up, but he only puts his foot in it when she reminds him that the doctor didn’t say Patrick would be ok.
Abi is chatting with her mum and making sure she’s ok. Tanya tells her she would have figured it out eventually. Abi tells her mum she’s never seen her look that angry before. She understands why Lauren has run out. Tanya seems upset.
Denise hangs up the phone. Charlie wonders if there is any news. Denise tries to tell him not really, but he presses on. She tells him it’s probably just rumors. He looks at her funny. She tells him it’s Sean.
Lauren’s at the park when she gets a text from Lucy. Max walks up to her, and he sits down on a swing. He tells her about a time he drank about her age. She apologizes and tells him it won’t happen again. He tells her to come on. As they walk away someone is watching.
Charlie tells Yolande that the police want to speak with Sean. She tells him she knew it. He tries to console her, and she screams at him to get out. Charlie leaves, and Denise looks worried.
The doorbell rings at the chippy as Craig is leaning over the counter reading a magazine. It’s Ian, and he wants to know how they are doing. Craig says they are dead. Ian tells him to keep the door open. Craig tells him about the half priced food at the Vic. Ian goes running out.
Chelsea and Dean are discussing Sean. Dean isn’t too thrilled and is worried about what Sean will do to them when he finds out it was them. Chelsea is not worried as he’ll be locked up. Dean reminds her he isn’t yet. Chelsea tells Dean that the cops will catch him. He tells her they should not have gotten involved. They should have let the police do their own dirty work. He wonders what will happen to them when to police find out they aren’t telling the whole story.
Lauren and Max walk in. Tanya tells Lauren never to break their trust again, never to run out of the house like that again as it gave her nightmares. She grabs for Lauren to hold her tight. Lauren tells her she’s sorry. Tanya apologizes as well.
Ian rushes into the Vic and tries to speak with Roxy. He tells them what they are doing is wrong and unethical. Ronnie asks him if feeding the boys in blue is wrong. Roxy says that keeping them fed while they are searching for the low life that did this to Patrick isn’t ethical then he’s got problems. Ian realizes he’s been beaten at his own game. Kevin asks Gus if there is any more news. He tells him they are looking for Sean. Kevin says he’s just seen him on the square. Gus hurries out.
Max brings Tanya some tea. He wonders where she got the money and she tells him it was out of her business account. He tells her that wasn’t very smart. He says he’ll put it back for her first thing. Tanya looks a little guilty. Max hugs her and spies Stacey walking across the square. Stacey runs into DC Carson. She tells her that it says something that Sean is still around and maybe points to his innocence. DC Carson wonders what it is about Sean that every woman she speaks with defends him.
Gus runs into Sean. Sean asks him if he has a problem. Gus stammers he doesn’t. He goes to walk away and starts to make a call. Sean grabs his phone. Sean breaks his phone and runs off.
The surgeon comes out to tell Yolande that everything went well. Patrick has been moved to ICU for observation. He says that Patrick will be disoriented when he comes around. He warns of mood changes and that they could be permanent. Yolande says “you’re talking about brain damage.” He says yes, and he can’t promise he’ll make a full recovery.
Gus walks up to DC Carson with DC Dunn and tells them where he just saw Sean. Sean is cornered at the Vic. He busts into the barrel room. DC Carson comes into the Vic and demands to search the premises. Sean hears footsteps and hides. It’s Ronnie. She hurries out of the room as she feels something is off. She looks at Roxy and motions her eyes. DC Carson catches on. They prepare to capture Sean when he realizes they are coming. They run in only to find he’s gone. DC Dunn chases after him. It’s a food chase, but they finally capture Sean in the square. Stacey looks on as Sean looks up at her.
