Phil heads out with the detectives, and Peggy is rushing behind them begging to find out where they are taking him. She urges Phil to tell them he is innocent. Ben stares out the window. Ian sees an opportunity to rush up to see Ben. Outside Peggy tells the crowd she’s going down to the station. Billy offers to go instead. Peggy yells at the group that her son has done nothing. Peggy goes upstairs to find Ian there. Ian tells her that he’s taking Ben home with him. She says to him that she doesn’t want any more upsets today. Ian tells her he’s taking Ben. Ben tells them he wants to stay and take care of his gran. Ian smirks and says she can take care of herself. Peggy and Ian go back and forth, and he threatens to call social services. Ben urges Ian that he wants to stay there. Ian concedes and tells him to call him if he needs anything. Downstairs Mo is holding court in the Vic debating on what they’ll charge Phil with at the station. Kevin jumps in to defend Phil. Ian is his usual self and refuses to leave with Jane. He says that as soon as Phil is charged, Ben will be coming home with them.
A black cab is making it’s way to the square filled with two blondes, who argue.
On the square, Max winds up Bradley by asking him why Stacey doesn’t want him in her bed.
The DI starts to question Phil. Phil again sticks with he killed Stella. The DI wants him to retell the story as it’s not his usual way. Phil asks if he has kids. The DI relents and tells him he has two boys. Phil looks at him intently and asks him what he’d do if he found out someone had been knocking them about and twisting their minds.
Ben wonders what happened to Stella. Peggy tells him that she jumped. Ben wonders if she is in hospital. Peggy tells him that she died.
In the black cab, the driver gets a good look at the two passengers and nearly wrecks.
Honey and Pat chat about Peggy. Pat is sure it’s not as simple as Phil did it. Honey declares that he’s innocent until proven not guilty. Pat smirks, and Honey states she doesn’t know what Phil would do without Billy. Billy sits outside the jail waiting.
Ben tells Marge 2 that Stella is dead and can’t’ hurt them anymore. He says “she’s dead, the witch is dead.”
Peggy is rearranging all the things Stella changed. Aunt Sal says that Ian is saying she is too afraid to come back down. Sal convinces her to rise to the occasion.
At the station, another detective comes in and asks for a word. He whispers something to the DI. They order Phil back to his cell. Phil inquires as to whether they are going to charge him.
Bradley is yelling outside Stacey’s door, but she won’t come out. Deano is walking with Bradly when the black cab pulls up. Roxie says “we left Mallorca for this?” Ronnie tells her to come on. Deano thinks he’s hit the jackpot. The girls walk in and yell surprise. The crowd looks shocked, and Roxie sits next to Dot and asks her for the lowdown on who’s single. Dot just whispers “oh I say.” Ronnie and Roxie put on music and Denise tell them to have a bit of respect. Roxie puts her back in her place and tells her to loosen her knickers it’s a party.
Dot wonders if she should go upstairs to check on Peggy. Peggy stands on the stairs listening to everyone whisper about what did or didn’t happen. Dot gives Peggy her condolences. Peggy and Sal work to get the party going. Ian pushes Peggy to tell them what happened to make Stella walk out like that so frightened. Ronnie walks over and tells Ian to shut it. Peggy looks surprised.
Back at the station, the DI comes in with a tape of the roof. They show the tape to Phil, and he sees that Stella did in fact jump. Phil is visibly upset. They release Phil.
Stacey is at home when Max knocks on the window of the kitchen. She lets him in. Max starts in about how he doesn’t want to see Bradly get hurt. She tells Max she loves Bradley. Max makes it about him and Stacey. He wonders why she won’t sleep with Bradley. Bradley turns up at the front door. Max touches her cheek and tells her that Bradley won’t wait forever. Bradley shows up with two lollies. She takes hers and sends him away.
Peggy wonders how she knows the two blondes. They tell her that they are Ronnie and Roxie, Archie’s girls. Just as Peggy is going to say something, Phil comes in. She follows him upstairs as does Ian. They wonder how he got out. Peggy wonders who let Ian upstairs. Peggy yells at Billy for failing to man the door.
Mo is going on and on about why they let Phil out and how was he not charged for murder. Ronnie tells her she’s had enough of her going on. Mo asks her who they are anyway. Ronnie says they are Mitchells. Mo is shocked there are more of them. Ronnie tells her darn right there are. Dot says she’s just concerned for Peggy. Ronnie says it’s funny because a few minutes they were ready to stick the knife in. Deano is flirting with Roxie. Ronnie walks up and whispers “she’ll have you for breakfast mate.” Ronnie winks at him and walks away.
Upstairs two PC’s walk in to talk to Ben. Ian wants to know why they want to talk to Ben. The PC says an allegation was made and they must talk to Ben. Phil tells Ben they’ll want to talk to him about Stella. Phil goes with Ben down to the station. Peggy tells Ian what happened. Ian is angry that this happened right under their noses. Peggy asks him why it always has to be a fight with him. Ian gets up and gets in Peggy’s face and says “my mother would be turning in her grave.” Sal tells him that is enough. Peggy is so upset.
Ronnie, Roxie chat up Bradley and Deano. Bradley is excited to see Stacey walk in. They chat but Roxie messes things up, and Stacey tells her she can have him. Billy is chatting with them, but they don’t believe Honey is real. Deano tells Bradley he can’t let a girl deprive him of what’s rightfully his as he checks out Roxie. Bradley wonders how he is so smooth. Bradley asks Ronnie and Roxie what they first thought of him. Roxie says that he’d be good in a pub quiz. Ronnie and Roxie decide they like Walford enough to stick around.
Phil and Ben arrive home as Aunt Sal is leaving. Phil agrees to help make Marge 2 a cage. Ben looks at his dad and tells him that everything will be alright.
Ian comes in as Jane is cooking. She wonders where he’s been. Ian says he needed to clear his head. Jane tells him Ben will be alright. She says he couldn’t have known. She tells him to just be there for Ben. Jane tells him that Ben is lucky to have him.
Peggy comes into the sitting room to bring Phil some food. She wants to know why he told them he did it. Phil says if he could have killed her he would have. He would have smothered the breath out of her. She has damaged his son and nothing he can do about it. He wasn’t there to protect him. He was too busy listening to Peggy about her. He says that Stella is always going to be there in Ben’s head messing with him. Peggy runs out. Phil pours a drink. His hand shakes as he debates on drinking it.
