Phil is looking down as a man looks back up at him. Stella’s body is laying across the hood of the car.

Peggy, Aunt Sal, and Ben walk into the empty pub. It’s neatly decorated for the happy couples return. The music is playing a happy congratulations tune. Trace comes around the corner causing Ben to jump. Peggy asks Tracey to turn the music off. She tells her that she should make her way home, there will not be any celebration today. Aunt Sal spouts off that she hopes the bubbly was on sale or can be returned. Peggy whips around and asks her if that is all she can think about. Peggy orders her to bolt the doors and close the curtains.

Tanya and Max have Pat come to sit with the kids so they can find out what is going on. Abi begs them to take her with them. They tell her to wait with Pat until they can find out what is going on.

Back at the pub Peggy and Sal are discussing the nutcase that Stella is. Ben is looking at a balloon when someone bangs on the door. Ben fears it’s Stella come to take him away. Peggy calms him and says that she won’t be coming to take him away. She yells at whoever is banging on the door. She opens it when she finds out it is Billy and Honey. He wants to know what’s going on. She tells him its a private family matter. He says “once again I’m not worthy,” Peggy tells him to make himself useful and keep the vultures away. There is banging on the door, and Billy yells to hold on. He opens it to find Tanya and Max. They’ve come to find out how Ben is. Tanya wants to know what the blood on his shirt was about. Billy sends them away with no answers. Tanya deduces they should head to the cafe. There are bound to be answers there.

Jase comes into the flat. He sees Jay with a soccer ball and asks him if he’s still playing. Jay says he is and he’s good at it. Bert says he is good but was removed from the team for being too rough. Jase asks him to go down to the park to kick the ball around. Bert seems sad.

Ian is whinging about Phil nearly killing him. Jane defends Phil. Mo goes on about how Phil almost killed Gus as well. She asks Stacey about it. Dot walks in and says she’d just been over to the Vic and never seen nothing like it. Ian says you can safely say the wedding is off. Max and Tayna walk in, and Mo wants to know what he saw. Max doesn’t know anything. Jim is upset because he won’t be eating at the buffet. Billy and Honey walk in. Dot wants to know how Peggy is holding up. Mo wants to know whats going on. Billy tells them that the reception is canceled and the Vic is closed for now. Dot says she was really hoping it was fourth time lucky. Ian says “come on this is Phil Mitchell we’re talking about.” Jane puts him back in his place reminding him he’s not fared much better. Tanya mentions that Ben was distraught. She then mentions the blood and Ian rushes out towards the Vic. Jane follows him telling him to calm down. Mo turns to Stacey and tells her she’s going as she likes a bit of drama. Stacey says she’ll wait for Bradley. Bradley walks in, and Mo tells him the wedding is off and to get out of her way she doesn’t want to miss a thing. Bradley hopes it isn’t putting Stacey off from them getting married. She tells him that she can’t wait to marry him.

Ian pushes through the small crowd gathered at the door of the Vic. He pounds on the door yelling for them to open the door. Jane tries to calm him by telling him it’s probably nothing. Ian says he owes it to his mother to look out for Ben. He continues to pound on the door. Aunt Sal opens the door and comes out. She tells them to clear off, the Vic is closed. Mo says that they are only being neighborly. Ian tells Sal that he isn’t going anywhere until he sees his brother and he wants to know how he got blood on his shirt. Peggy opens the window upstairs and yells “Billy what the hell are you doing? You’re supposed to be manning the doors!” He says that she told him to put the word out. Peggy tells him he wasn’t supposed to abandon the pub. She tells him to sort the crowd out now! Billy tells them all to clear off. Ian wants to know if Billy is hiding something. Mo spouts off with a rumor about Phil knocking Stella about. Billy wonders who’s been saying that when Ian reminds him, he was there too. Mo tells him that there is no smoke without fire. Billy tells Ian and Mo they don’t know what they are talking about. Ian tells Billy he has a right to see his brother.

Upstairs Peggy takes off her fascinator as Ben asks where his dad is. Peggy tells him that she doesn’t know, but he will be back soon. Ben wonders if his dad might change his mind and choose Stella. Peggy tells him that after what she did to him there is no chance. Ben suggests that his dad will be ashamed of him, because he’s not like him, and he just let it happen without telling anyone. Peggy assures him that none of this is his fault. Ben insists that it is because he is a coward and a sniveling little girl. He begins to weep, and Peggy soothes him. She tells him that Stella had them all fooled and she will never forgive herself for what happened to him. She gently reminds him that he is safe now and what he did took real guts. She gives Ben a cuddle.

Ian is angry that he has not seen Ben yet. He’s complaining to Jane as he spies Lucy dressed well beyond her age. He demands that she go home and get dressed in something more suitable. Lucy protest and tells him no. Jane teases Ian and laughs that it went well.

Peggy is pounding on the door begging Ben to let her in. He’s locked himself in. Peggy is fuming as Stella has poured orange juice on Ben’s bed to make it look like he’s wet the bed. Billy comes up, and Peggy demands to know if he’s found, Phil. He says he doesn’t know. Peggy orders him to ask around and find Phil. Billy whinges that she told him to stay there. She tells him that she’s changed her mind. Honey asks what she can do, and Peggy says just to keep that lot away. Aunt Sal goes to help.

Abi and Lauren are arguing at the house when Bert arrives to chat with Pat. Pat sends them off to watch a DVD. Abi promises a favor to Lauren for the year if she keeps it a secret that she’s gone to check on Ben.

Back at the cafe, Billy walks in. Ian inquires if there is any word on Phil. Billy says that no one has heard anything. He asks if anyone has heard anything. They all shake their head no. Jim says he’s halfway to the coast by now. Dot says to tell Peggy she’ll say a prayer. Mo suggests he’s been giving her a good hiding. Or maybe it’s the boy. Billy storms out. Bradly says that it doesn’t look like there is going to be much of a party. Stacey says that is the understatement of the year. Bradley suggests that Dot and Jim will remain there until they get the gory details so maybe they can slip across and enjoy some quiet time. Stacey wonders if he wants to find out what happened. He says no he doesn’t want to as much as (he whispers something in her ear). Max walks over and asks to join them. Stacey does not look amused. Max and Tanya sit down with them.

Ian is out in front of the cafe when he notices Lucy with a boy. He runs over to shoo him away. He tells her that she’s only 13 and to go on and get out of there. Lucy yells at her dad. The boy tells him that she told him that she was 16. Ian says well she’s not and sends him on his way. Ian grabs Lucy by the arm and tells her that she is grounded.

Billy comes back to the pub to let Peggy know he’s found out nothing. She says that her son is awol, her grandson has locked himself in a room and Billy couldn’t find out anything? Billy says that people are talking, but she isn’t going to like what they are saying. Peggy wants to know what they are saying. Billy says “they are saying that Phil has been battering Stella and that is why she bolted and that he’s been hurting Ben.” Peggy looks horrified and says she’s not having that. She tells him to get Tracy on the phone.

Bert is telling Pat all about Jase and how he’s come back to parent Jay.

Billy comes into the cafe and declares that the Mitchells are true to their word. They were promised a party, and that is what they are going to have. He invites them all to the pub as Peggy is opening up. Ian spouts off with “I didn’t think you had anything to celebrate?” Billy says that they should spread the word.

Abi is sneaking out as Pat catches her. She says that she thought someone was at the door.

Peggy is playing happy hostess, and as Dot tries to pry it out of her, she moves away quickly. Ian demands to see his brother and Peggy tells him that he is resting at the moment. Tanya asks to see Ben, and again Peggy avoids the question. Ian says it’s like she doesn’t have a care in the world. Jane smirks at him. Tanya, Max, Bradly, and Stacey are sitting. Tanya tells Stacey it will be her turn next. Stacey tells her that she hasn’t put much thought into it. Tanya tells her that she better have because a good wedding is all in the planning. Stacey tells her that they don’t really want a big fuss. Bradley agrees. Stacey says she’s not feeling well and heads out. Bradley follows.

Peggy gets everyone’s attention. She says that there was no wedding and that Stella couldn’t go through with it. Ian quips that it’s a sign of an intelligent woman. Peggy continues to explain, and Ian continues to demand answers and toss insults out about Phil. Peggy has had enough and tells Ian that if he says one more word he’s out. Phil pops through the door as she’s yelling at Ian. Everyone goes quiet. Phil walks towards a banner and rips it down. He tells everyone that the party is over. Ian comes up behind him and declares that Stella must have finally come to her senses. Phil stops, takes a breath and keeps on moving. Peggy looks very angry, while Honey and Billy look shocked.

In the park, Jase and Jay are playing soccer. Bert walks up smiling. Jay kicks the ball to Bert. Bert plays along, and Jay kicks the ball out from under him, knocking him down. Bert is wounded in the heart more than the body. He walks away as Jase and Jay continue to play.

Pat falls asleep on the settee, and Abi sees her chance to sneak out.

Peggy wonders where the hell Phil has been. She tells him that she’s had to deal with that lot downstairs and Ben locking himself in his room as he’s afraid Stella is going to come back to harm him. Phil says she doesn’t have to worry about that. Peggy wonders what he’s done. He says nothing she didn’t deserve. He tells her that Stella is dead. He goes to see Ben as Peggy looks shocked. Phil is begging Ben to open the door. Ben is worried that Stella is with him. Phil promises that she is not and she will never hurt him again. He opens the door and lets Phil in. Phil tells him that she is gone and she will never be back.

Max heads out of the pub as Honey is walking Abi over to Tanya. Abi is determined that Stella is there and that she is capable of making herself invisible and hurting Ben. Tanya tells Pat she has Abi. Tanya grabs Abi and heads upstairs. Ian draws a devils face on the balloon with Phils’ face. Then pops the balloon which scares everyone.

Bert shows up drunk to Pat’s.

Peggy tells Tanya she’s not promising anything but seeing as Abi is so upset she’ll give it a go. Phil comes in and tells Peggy he said that no one was to be up there. Peggy explains that Abi is really upset. Phil looks at Abi and says “You knew didn’t you?” Abi responds that she tried to tell, but no one believed her. Phil looks at Tanya squarely in the eyes and says she tried to tell you and did nothing about it? Tanya says you know what kids are like, saying all sorts of bits. Phil says that Abi tried to tell her his son was being abused and she wouldn’t even listen. Tanya is shocked as she had no clue it was that bad. Abi uses the chance to sneak in to see Ben. She tells Ben she can’t stay long but wants to know if he’s ok. He shakes his head yes. She says that she has something for him. It’s Marge 2. Ben thanks her. Back in the kitchen Tanya pushes back and says that she tried to tell Phil that Stella was being funny with Ben. Phil screams that she didn’t try hard enough. Tanya yells back that maybe he didn’t want to listen. Abi says that Marge will protect him from danger. Ben says that his dad told him he wasn’t in danger anymore. Abi says that the story isn’t over until the witch is dead. Outside the door, Tanya beckons for Abi to come on. Abi tells him to look after Marge 2 that she is his talisman.

Max pops in on Stacey and Bradley and tells the pair that he’ll be happy to help out with the wedding financially. Bradley agrees to accept the money. Stacey chucks that pair of them out.

Phil is pacing in the family room when Peggy comes in to tell him that everyone is talking. She tells him that they all want to know what happened. He gets angry and says he wants them out of his pub. He storms downstairs just as Ian is pushing his way past Billy to get upstairs. He pushes Ian back into the bar and orders everyone out. He demands that they all get out. Ian tells him not until he’s seen his brother. Phil turns around (in the background you see Jane realize Ians gone too far) Ian says that he promised Stella he’d look after him. Ian goes further to say that Stella is a good woman, and most people would agree with that. He says that she might not be the prettiest chocolate in the box, but she is far too good for Phil. Ian asks Phil what happened? Did she get fed up with being a punching bag? Phil glares at him and says that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Ian says that he saw how terrified she was. Just then two DI’s walk in calling for Mr. Mitchell. Phil turns to face them. Everyone is watching. They say that they need to talk to him about Stella Crawford. Phil says that he is listening. They indicate they’d like to speak in private. Phil says “why?? I have nothing to hide. You all want to know what happened? I killed her. I pushed her off that roof with my bare hands. And to tell the truth I’d do it again if I had the chance.”
