Big Mo is singing Bradley’s song in the kitchen and Sean is drinking his tea. Stacey walks in and says she thinks she heard enough of that racket the night before. Mo says she’d be made up if someone sang to her like that. Stacey says then maybe he should sing to her like that next time then. Sean asks if he takes request. Charlie calls for Mo to come let him in. Sean asks when Stacey and Bradley will be singing duets. He thinks it’s tragic, a bloke acting like for a girl. Stacey is walking out and tells Sean she just noticed the time. She runs smack into Mo and gets red jam all over her white dress. Mo tells her she better put something on that otherwise it will stain. Stacey is frustrated. Mo starts singing again.
Bradley is working at the kitchen table, and Dot asks him if he’s going to see Stacey later. Bradley says there is a science fiction convention he might look into it. Jim says he thought Bradley had grown out of all that stuff. Bradley says that grown men in their 50’s attend it. It’s not just for kids anymore. Dot asks him “well what about Stacey?” and he says she wants something else. Jim says maybe he needs someone with the same interest. Dot hushes him and asks him to imagine what would happen if they had the same interest.
Garry wakes to find himself in bed with Heather from the party. She’s snoring rather loudly, and he is wide-eyed.
Mickey pulls up with his date from the night before. She asks him if he has forgotten something. He goes in to kiss her, and she says “your money silly” Pat walks up and he ducks down so not to be noticed. His date comes back, gives him the money and tells him she has his number. Mickey’s right pleased with the amount of cash in his hands.
Stacey is on her store when the jerk from the party starts harassing her. She tells him she can hit him with her other fist if he likes. Mickey heads into the cafe and orders breakfast. Honey, Billy, and baby Janet are having breakfast and discussing the rsvp to Phil and Stella’s wedding. Billy tells Honey he’s already sorted it with Phil. Honey thinks they should tell Stella as well otherwise she’ll think they are being snoopy. Honey says they don’t know much about her now do they? What her hobbies are, what goes on between her and Phil behind closed doors. Ian walks up and says “she’s told you then?” Billy looks confused. She tells him about Stella’s bruise. Billy says she must have tripped home, right? Honey says yeah see exactly that’s what she said. Ian says that’s what they all say when they are trying to hide something like this. Billy says like what? Honey says Ian thinks Phil is hurting her. Billy doesn’t believe it and smirks. Honey tells him it’s not funny.
Garry is creeping around looking for his shoes. He asks the guy sitting at the table if he’s seen it. The guy is Ian’s friend, PC Kenny Morris. Garry asks him if he’s ever gotten so drunk he doesn’t know what he’s doing as he picks up the police hat. The guy tells him not to worry he’s not on duty. Shirley walks in and puts the hat on and asks Garry what his story is.
Honey and Janet are leaving the cafe. Billy tells Ian to stop putting daft ideas into Honey’s head. Ian reminds him that Phil used to hit his mum. Billy says yeah but it wasn’t Phil it was the drink weren’t it. Ian reminds Billy of how rough Phil is on him and was as a kid too. Billy says that it’s different and Phil wouldn’t do that to Stella. Ian says you want to bet? Billy does and tells Ian he’d love to get his hands on Beale money. They make a bet on whether it’s true. Billy heads out.
Preeti and Chelsea walk in. They ask Mickey where he was the night before. He asks if he missed something. Chelsea says she better not say as Stacey might decide to kick off or something. Stacey gets defensive and asks Chelsea if she wants to say something. Chelsea says it’s like the film “The Bodyguard” except Stacey is Kevin Costner and Bradley is Whitney Houston. Preeti says she’d love it if someone sang to her. Sean says that Bradley and Stacey went out once, but now he’s stalking her. Stacey yells at them that there is nothing going on with her and Bradley. Sean clears his throat and says that he thinks he’s got the message now. Bradley is standing in the doorway looking like a wounded bird. Bradley walks in and says she’s right. He and Stacey aren’t together anymore, and if it were true, it would still be none of their business. He walks out, and Sean says “for a moment there I thought he was going to start singing again!” Chelsea laughs hysterically, and Stacey looks upset.
Heather is on the phone with her Mum. She is apologizing for not coming home and tells her she was at Shirley’s watching a DVD. The come up with a movie title. Her Mum is giving her a hard time. Heather gets off the phone, and Shirley asks her about Garry. Heather says a lady doesn’t kiss and tell. She doesn’t say they did but doesn’t say they didn’t either. PC Morris is walking out, and Shirley says she got the best catch of the night. He says someone must have been sick in her bathroom. Shirley motions for Heather to start cleaning as she has a few errands to run. Heather protests. The phone is ringing. Shirley says she missed having her around.
Billy runs into Stella on the street. He says her bruise looks a bit nasty. Stella says “yeah. Billy was there something else you wanted because I’ve got to go.” Billy asks her if she wants any advice about the wedding. He and Honey have had their fair share of problems and well he thought he could help with any advice. Stella tells him that she knows he’s probably trying to be helpful but she doesn’t want to discuss her private life in the middle of a busy market. Billy says maybe they could catch up later. Stella hurries off.
Stacey is in the laundrette washing clothes. Dot asks if she needs any helps and Stacey shows her the dress. She says it’s beetroot. Dot says “oh I say, I’ll do my best.” Stacey puts the other clothes in the wash. Dot tells her that Bradley is working from home today. Dot asks if something happened at the party they went to. Stacey says it was no big drama. Dot says it’s rather sad. Stacey says Bradley seems alright. Dot says he’s putting a brave face on, and he’s going to one of them convention things this evening. Dot says she knows where he’d rather be if she doesn’t mind her saying. Dot suggest that Stacey pop in and see him. Stacey shrugs and walks out.
Bradley is making a sandwich, and Jim asks him why he didn’t get something in the cafe. Bradley says he didn’t fancy anything. He says he bumped into Stacey. Last night Stacey got him out of a fight. Stacey doesn’t want to know, and he doesn’t know what to do about it. Jim pulls the table back and tells Bradley to put his feet out. Jim tells him he’s a clever lad, but somethings can’t be sorted out by brains alone. Jim says he is going to show him a few moves. Jim tells him to put his dukes up. Bradley reluctantly does.
Billy is telling Honey that it is probably nothing and Stella is just embarrassed about being so clumsy. Honey says she’s really worried and he should look into it. Ian comes out and says they should make their bet more interesting. Mickey comes out of the cafe with Preeti and Chelsea, and they tell him Li is going to be in a right state. He says maybe he should give her some space.
Garry and Minty are at the veg and fruit stand buying bananas when Shirley walks up to tell them they owe her money for the vodka from last night. Garry says she never told them they had to pay. Shirley says would you rather me tell what happened between you and my mate Heather last night? Minty whispers to her “him and Heather?” Shirley says no not really, but he doesn’t know. Garry can’t find his wallet, and Billy takes back the bananas. Mickey walks by with a large bouquet of flowers and runs into Li.
Dot walks in and hears Jim yelling. She runs into the kitchen to see Jim and Bradley boxing. She says “don’t you hit my grandson!” Jim tells her he’s trying to help him out, isn’t he! Dot yells that she will not have violence in her home. Dot hits Jim with her purse twice.
Billy walks into the kitchen at the Vic and Peggy is trying on her wedding hat. She asks him what he thinks. Stella walks in and says the hat is lovely. Peggy agrees. Billy says he hopes Stella’s mum doesn’t turn up wearing the same one. Then says nah that won’t happen. Peggy says Billy is right and that she hasn’t spoken to her mum to find out what she’s wearing. It’s an important day in the life of a mum. Stella says well she can’t ring her now and says she’s got so much on with work that it will have to wait until later and storms out. Peggy looks at Billy shocked. Peggy wonders what that was all about.
Mo is drooling over the Polish builders. Stacey asks her how old they are. Mo says it’s the new European market. Stacey says she’s lost her. Mo says that it’s the new EMU. Darren Miller reckons it’s the future. She’s got to try to figure out how to get her hands on some Polish pound. Stacey reckons she’s just perving over some builders. Mo says she is single and free, what’s the harm. Dot and Jim walk by, and Stacey asks Mo to watch the store for five minutes.
Billy walks into the parlor to talk to Stella. Stella is looking out the window. Billy says he knows she’s busy but he didn’t know where to put the card. Stella, still staring out the window, says she can’t cope with all of this. Billy says yeah mum’s and hats and all that, she’s lucky if that is the worst of her problems. Stella says she’s tired of being bullied and prodded. Billy says it can be a bit much, but maybe she should give her mum a call to keep the peace. Stella tells him that her mum is a very busy woman. He tells her that if she ever needs to talk he’s there. She tells him not to be ridiculous in a sharp tone. “How is that going to help?!” and storms out. Billy is perplexed.
Stacey goes to Bradley’s and tells him it must be nice to work at home. She has to stand on the stall and people having a go at her about last night. She asks him if he doesn’t care if people think he’s an idiot. He says he cares if she thinks he’s an idiot. She grabs her head, and he asks her “what?” She says “why do you have to say things like that and what was that song about last night?” Honestly, she’s not the kind of girl blokes sing songs to. She tells him that she feels like they are from different planets. Outside Mo is feeding the Polish workers borscht. Mickey and Li walk up and ask her what all this is. Mo explains it’s an old family recipe. Mickey says “whose family!” Mo says her family, she’s got a bit of Pole running right through the middle all the way back to the royals. Peggy says she can’t sell it right outside her pub. She tries to go inside her pub, but the designer stops her. She pushes her way in and is upset by what she sees.
Bradley asks Stacey why she’s come round just to call him names. Stacey says she doesn’t know why she came round. He says “so we can be friends again? It’s a little late for that don’t you think?” He apologizes because he still wants to be with her. He should have known this wouldn’t work. She says why? Because she goes to parties and he goes to sci-fi conventions. He says “Yes! Because this is who I am and if you don’t like it then you might as well go.”
Mickey and Li walk in and are mushy. He says he needs a shower and she offers to join him. His mobile rings, and he says it’s Kay from last night. She’s recommended him to a few of her friends. Li looks sad, and he says to her that they need the money. He goes off to shower. His mobile goes off again, and Li pulls it out. She sees how much cash he’s been paid.
Phil trips over tools and yells at them to clear the place up. Garry is trying to figure out what he did last night, and Minty tells him to retrace his steps to the bedroom. Garry says he didn’t come home last night. Minty says “no you didn’t stay with that Heather bird did you?” Garry doesn’t know. Minty tells him then his wallet must be in her bedroom and he should go round to get it.
Honey is grilling Billy about when he’s going to go speak with Phil. Billy doesn’t really want to. Honey reminds him he has to especially after what happened to Little Mo. Billy says yeah he supposes so. Honey tells him she’s proud of him.
Stacey makes her way back to the stall. Mo tells her she might open up a soup kitchen. Charlie comes looking for Mo as she owes him a cut of the profits since he was up at the allotment pulling the beetroot at 6:30 that morning. She tells him there was no profit. He takes her money. The polish worker Stacey decked the night before comes up to say he saw her looking at him earlier. Maybe she needs a real man. She tells him to get lost.
Marco walks by the kitchen and Peggy yells for him. She wants to know what it will take to get the Vic open by Monday. He says a magic wand. It’s possible. Peggy gives him her credit card and tells him there is her magic wand and she wants the pub open by Monday.
Phil is in the Arches, and Billy comes in. Phil tells him whatever it is make it light because he and Stella are going out. Billy says well he’s heard something. Phil asks him if it’s about him. Billy says something about Stella’s head and Phil wants to know if someone’s said he hurt her. Billy says maybe. Phil reasons it’s Beale and heads out angry. Billy runs after him.
Heather winds Garry up about last night. She finally tells him nothing happened. She tells him that he passed out on her bed. He is happy. She hands him his wallet.
Stacey comes in to see Dot has saved her dress. She quotes a verse. Dot tells her a little elbow grease can work. They talk about Bradley and how he is not perfect, but no one is. Dot tells her she doesn’t want her to do one more thing she might regret. She storms out after tossing her dress in the trash.
Phil goes into the cafe and tells Ian that he hears that he’s been picking on people. Ian says he’s just been saying what people are thinking. Phil says maybe he should think about what he says before he speaks because if Ben had heard it, it would have hurt him. Phil reminds him that he thought they were getting along. That he just accused Stella recently of hurting Ben and now him hurting Stella? He tells Ian that he would never lay a finger on Stella and if he hears one more person go on about him and Stella, then he is going to come back and rearrange the cafe. Phil walks out, and Billy tells Ian to pay up.
Stella is in the parlor and Peggy comes in and asks if they can call her mum now. Stella rushes her off, and Phil comes in to say the cab is there. Peggy tells her it will only take a minute, but Stella walks out.
Shirley comes in, and Heather is just finishing the cleaning. She tells her that there is still a problem with her toilet. Shirley wonders what she’s going to do without a toilet. Heather tells her she will just have to hold it in.
Stella is in the cab looking at her phone. She tells Charlie she’s going to step out and make a confidential call. She rings her mum, who doesn’t answer, and she leaves a message. She tells her she knows it’s been a really long time since, but there are some things she really needs to talk to her about. Peggy is inside going through Stella’s bag and pulls out her address book. Phil catches her and wonders what she’s up to. Peggy explains Stella was meant to give her mums number. Peggy sees an invitation on the floor, and it’s to Stella’s parents. She said she’d posted that already.
Stacey shows up at Bradley’s door. She’s smiling and pushes her hair back behind her ears. She’s got Spock ears on. Bradley wonders what she’s doing. Are they going as mates? Stacey says she doesn’t think that’s going to work and walks in. Bradley turns around, and Stacey kisses him.
