Shirley bangs on Seans door. Sean answers and she demands to see Carly. He tells her that she is not there. Stacey walks by with a bag of trash and tells them not to mind her she’s just taking the trash out. She tells Sean that Uncle Charlie is looking for him for the rent. Sean and Carly run out as Charlie yells after him.

Rob sneaks in and Dawn wonders why he’s up so early. He tells Dawn he couldn’t sleep so he thought he would surprise her. He gives her bacon and flowers. Dawn is suspicious and asks him if he’s feeling guilty about something. Keith comes down and asks about the tea. Rob declares he doesn’t ever want to end up like Keith. Dawn assures him he won’t. Rob wonders what would happen if he couldn’t provide and Dawn leaves him. She says she’d never and he would never end up like Keith. Keith breaks a dish.

The stalls are active and Bradly walks up to Stacey. Stacey has a go at him and tells him she doesn’t know who he is anymore. Bradly asks her what is so wrong with wanting to be better and better himself.

Rob tells Dawn it might be better to move and realize their dream. A garden for the baby and drives down to the seaside. He asks her what she is scared of.Shewonders why now. He tells her it’s the perfect time to go. She asks him if he’s serious. She tells him after the baby is born. He tells her it has to be now before May causes anymore trouble. Dawn wonders if she’s seen her. He says he’s not been anywhere near her. Dawn declares she’s not leaving because of May. Rob is worried.

Shirley is angry and tells Dean and her boyfriend that they need to clean up. She apologizes to him and tells him to have some milk as he watches her boyfriend drinking it.

Dawn picks up Robs jacket as she is going down to the laundret. She finds a locket in one of his pockets and keith asks her what she’s found. She declares its nothing and storms out.

Deano tells Carly that Shirley wants them in the Vic at lunch. Sean thinks they should go. Carly ducks into the washcloset to avoid Kevin. Deano ask Kevin what happened between him and Carly.

Bradly gets a card from Julie congratulating him on the job and wishing that he gets what he deserves.

Phil is heading out as the Vic is slammed and Peggy is run off her feet busy. Charlie has a go at Sean about paying his rent. Sean tells him he has no money. Charlie tells him to get a job. Sean offers to change the barrell for Peggy. She tells him no, but then she gets an order for 6 pints from Mickey. Sean asks again and she says yes.

Rob walks in and checks his pockets realizing that the locket is gone and runs out.

Bradly walks up to Julie as she’s getting on the lift and asks if she’s like to be on his team. She asks him if he’s trying to soothe his concious. He says he just wondered if she’d like to be on his team and if she would be available. She turns him down and tells him that he stuffed her in it. He declares she would have done the same thing. She tells him that she would have never have done that. She tells him that she’d like to think she’s a better person than that and gets on the lift.

Sean helps Peggy as Carly walks in. Deano invites her to sit down.

Rob walks into the laundrette and asks Dawn if they can go somewhere they can talk. She tells him that they can talk there. She opens the locket and declares that they looked really happy there. She wonders why he’s kept it and he tells her that May gave it to him yesterday. Dawn asks him why he told her he hadn’t seen her. He says it came in the post. She wonders again why he’s keeping it from her. He doesn’t want it messing with her head and that May is tyring to split them up. She asks why the other side was empty. He tells her that it was for when he and May had a kid.

Pat walks up to Carly and tells her she knows what happened. That she is no angel herself and her advice is to clean up her doorstep. Peggy is showing Sean her new design. Pat reminds her not to get rid of the plants because they are historic and classic. Carly shocks Shirley

Dawn and Rob walk into May’s office. May tells her that she normally doesn’t do relationship couseling but for those two she will. Dawn tells her that as soon as the baby is born she and Rob are gone and there is nothing she can do to stop them from being a proper family. May stares at her and tells her she’ll give her a year. And in a years time that they’ll still be living with Keith, scratching to get by and she’ll have social services watching them and the baby. Dawn tells her to clear off as she’s lost.  May tells her she hasn’t lost. May wonders what she thinks she’s won. She tells her that “did you think you’d really won when he came to see me last night, right here on this desk?” Dawn storms out and Rob follows her.

Dawn demands to know why he went to see her. He swears nothing happened. She makes him swear on their babies life that nothing went on between him and May. Dawn walks off.

Carly tells Shirley that she thinks she’s jealous. Dean is confused. Carly tells Dean that Shirley dileberately told Chelsea about her and Sean. Dean is disgusted and runs off after Carly.

Dawn breaks down in tears and Keith comes to help.

Peggy offers Sean a job. Bradly comes in and tells Stacey about his demotion. She asks if it’s because of her and he says yes and because of him too.

Shirley’s boyfriend has a go at Dean and Shriley tells him to drop it. Deano storms out.

 

Keith is ironing (ironic I know) and is giving advice to Dawn. He goes on about lions and how the lioness is the hunter and the father stays to watch over the cub. How the lion raises the cub as his own. And how the little lioness has to go off on her own. (It’s rather sweet for once) Dawn appreciates him and gives him a kiss on the cheek.

Shirley’s boyfriend messes with Deans stock. Dean tells Shirley that all the bad things that happen in their family are because of her. Her boyfriend tells him to knock it off. Dean talks about how he waited for his mum and hoped who was his mom and finally she came. And he was disgusted by her. Her boyfriend punches Dean and Shirley punches the boyfriend.

Kevin finishes lunch and Pat walks in. She tells him she’s seen Carly. He tells her that there is a delivery for her in the front room. It’s all the flowers from the Vic.

Rob bangs on the door and Keith tells him she’s gone. Dawn is off to her mums and she tells Keith that she appreciates him even if she’s just now realized how good he is. She thanks him. May watches Rob out her window. Rob runs up to Dawn and gets in her cab. Keith tries to kick him out. Dawn jumps out to go to the tube. Rob declares May is just trying to win.  May walks up and says to Dawn that it was no contest because she doesn’t stand up to May’s quality. May goes to grab Rob’s arm and Rob tells her to get off him. He pushes May and pulls her pills out of her bag calling her a pill popping psycho. He tells her that there is no contest between her and Dawn and gets down on one knee and proposes to Dawn. May is stunned.
